REUBEN SANDWICH
#21
They also have another sandwich at that place called the Cajun Dutchman. It's a triple decker with roast beef, polish ham, bacon, smoked gouda and cajun sauce served hot as well. I'm always torn on which one to get.

That Chalamade sounds wicked good.  And here I thought I was being bold by adding fresh jalapeno slices to my fermenting cabbage.

Dammit!  It's 9PM and I want to try that Cajun Dutchman because this food talk got me hungry.

Fuck it.  Looks like a I'll have to settle for a couple of chicken and green chili quesadillas with cotija and avo.

C'mon, KC . . . looks like you're getting chicken party, girl.

So now I have to know how to cut meat a particular way if I want to present that for sandwiches. Gawd. *sigh*

hah

Yeah . . . like going against the grain is an entirely new skill set for you.

Go with a flat cut instead of a point.

Fuck the sandwich, corned beef and cabbage is the only way to go. With tatties, of course.

Yes, otherwise you'll have a chewy string sandwich. I went to an Irish bar and grill for St. Patrick's day once and got the corned beef and cabbage and the cook sliced it along the grain. I was tempted to tell the waitress that someone needs to teach the "chef" back there how to slice corned beef, but I didn't want to be an asshole.

Local grocery advert . . . Flat Cut $4.69/lb . . . Point Cut $3.69/lb . . . Circle $3.89/lb.

I've never, ever heard of a Circle Cut.  Never.

It sounds more like a bris, to me.

But then again, corned beef is from a "BRIS ket".

Two pints . . . and a shot of Irish whisky, too.

Don't forget the soda bread.

I don't believe Arizona has a state sammie.

The way things are going . . . Shit Sandwich on stale bread . . . is a contender.

I checked to see if this state has one and it's so dumb I'm embarrassed to say.

They eat muskrat here like it's a delicacy. I still find that so unbelievable, but it's the truth. They have signs outside some restaurants advertising that they have it. All the awesome seafood that is available and they serve muskrat. Dear god.
