I love capitalism. I don't know why anyone wouldn't like it, but they're out there and I see them say it.

Cashing in on a name isn't the same thing as earning a profit.

Most people who say they love capitalism don't know anything at all about capitalist theory. If they did, they would understand that crony capitalism is the antithesis of honest business.

I have great appreciation for honest business. I have none for crony capitalism.

Drug and human trafficking are a very large part of the "free market economy". Free market economists know this and have no problem with it. Do you know why?

Ed should be moving into his apartment in the next week or two. I'll have my pot buddy back and all his stuff will soon be gone from my apartment.

Why would republicans vote against an ethics bill for Supreme Court justices?

I read a summary of it. Democrats want the justices to adhere to ethics & disclosure rules. They want a panel of appellate judges to review misconduct complaints. republicans are saying Democrats are trying to destroy the conservative court, because of course the justices couldn't possibly be doing that on their own by accepting million dollar vacations and other pricey gifts from benefactors.   78

Our Constitution allows for their impeachment and removal, by our elected representatives.

If accusations about illegal impropriety or judicial misconduct are alleged, bring charges and use the system and procedures already in place, to remove them.

What's the holdup, by the accusers, in bringing them to . . . "justice"?

Then fuck 'em.

Grow a set, do your job and quit hiding behind someone else (by creating a new authoritative body) to do your dirty work . . . errr . . . I mean your sworn obligation.

And now we know why the Republicans didn't support the Democrats' "ethics" bill.

Virtue signalling is a purely partisan affectation, commonly utilized by both parties. Yes, Duchess, both sides engage in this sort of bullshittery, because both parties are devoid of anything that could possibly be mistaken for genuine leadership. Who needs leadership when your loyalists will vote for you because you oppose the other party.

A perfect example of a holographic paradigm: the voter reflects the electoral politics, and the electoral politics reflects the voter.
