Nope. I'm from DC. I'm a law student. Case was mentioned in class. I took an interest and have been following it since.

If you don't mind, in what context was the case mentioned? Because it is sad when a drug dealer gets whacked, but it is a fact of life. If drug dealing was a lovely business, I would quit my day job. But, since I don't want to be whacked by someone wanting my stash, I continue with the daily grind of legally earning my pay. What interest does this case have to a class learning the law?
Do you want to be prosecutor or a defender or a real estate attorney or a patent attorney or family law? Or whoever will hire you when the student loans come due?

The case was mentioned in supporting reference to the media's influence of investigative/trial cases and probably has no interest in regards to learning the law; nothing taught in law school really does. Comforting, huh?
I'm not sure where my legal career will take me -- if anywhere.
I've not taken any student loans so they are a non-issue.
