That SonOfABitch should of had to live with what he did to those poor girls! What happened to these guards watching the inmates and putting them on suicide watch? He shouldn't have had anything that he could hang himself with, not even a damn sheet. Only good thing about this is the tax payers no longer have to pay for his sorry ass. UGH!

Depending on what you belive...I think his chestnuts are roasting on an open fire, as they should be.

I know he's roasting but damn he couldnt even deal with half of what he put them girls through. I just wanted to see him suffer a little longer. I was honestly hoping someone else in the prison would torture him until his death but he took the cowardly way out. *shrugs* I am however glad he is dead for the girls sake.

I was very surprised to see that on my welcome screen early this morning. He was on suicide watch until June when it was determined he was no longer a threat to himself. I never thought he would have the balls to do something like this.

Ohio prison officials investigating Castro's death have put the two guards on duty at the time on administrative leave.
It's paid leave, for now, while the prison system continues its internal investigation and the Ohio state highway patrol conducts a criminal investigation (I guess the highway patrol oversees some of the prison administration?).
I hope it turns out that Castro simply took advantage of the short window of time that he was unsupervised between scheduled/approved guard rounds. Would hate to see two seven-year employees with no marks on their records lose their jobs over the likes of Ariel Castro.

Cleveland kidnapper and rapist Ariel Castro committed suicide by hanging himself with a sheet attached to a window hinge in his prison cell, coroner's investigative notes show.
Castro was found facing the door of the cell with his knees bent, according to Franklin County coroner's office notes viewed Friday by The Associated Press. The hinge was almost 7 feet from the floor of the cell. Police reports listed Castro at 5 feet 7 inches tall.
Two sheets of paper were found in the cell, one with Bible verses written on it and the other with the names of Castro's children and grandchildren, the notes said. A Bible open to the book of John was also found.
Franklin County Coroner Jan Gorniak said she's awaiting toxicology results before issuing a final report on Castro's Sept. 3 suicide. The preliminary notes indicate he suffered from hardening of the arteries.

Cleveland kidnapper Ariel Castro may have died from auto-erotic asphyxiation, not suicide, and two prison guards falsified logs documenting their observation of him in the hours before he died, the state said Thursday.
Castro's pants and underwear were pulled down to his ankles when he was found, leading the state to forward those facts to the state highway patrol to consider the possibility of auto-erotic asphyxiation, according to the report from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.
The report suggests — but does not conclude — that Castro may have died as the result of auto-erotic asphyxiation, whereby individuals achieve sexual satisfaction by briefly choking themselves into unconsciousness.
Castro did not leave a suicide note and "multiple levels of assessment" did not find tendency toward suicide, the report said. A comprehensive mental health evaluation found "no evidence of serious mental illness or indications for suicide precautions were present," according to the report.
Surveillance video indicates guards did not do at least eight required checks on Castro the afternoon and evening before he died. Two checks were done properly just before Castro hanged himself on Sept. 3 at a prison reception center south of Columbus.
The report also said an ambulance contracted to provide medical assistance at the prison was significantly late in arriving, but the delay likely didn't affect the outcome.
The report also said staff failed to make sure Castro watched a suicide prevention video when he first arrived in August.

Unfortunately, people are going to get in trouble for this & may even lose their job/s.
Shit happens in the slammer but he was under the direct care of those who were supposed to be checking on him every ? minutes.
