JAMES GANDOLFINI IS DEAD
#1

The Sopranos was one of my favorite shows back when I regularly watched television. When it ended the way it did I wanted to hurt somebody. I actually rose to my feet & hollered at the television, I was pissed. Taz

RIP Mr. Gandolfini. You were the perfect Tony Soprano.

It's being reported that he suffered a massive heart attack while vacationing in Italy. He was 51.

I don't know if this guy was an asshole but he's in the news because he died.

James Gandolfini, the US actor best known for his role as a mob boss in the TV series The Sopranos has died at the age of 51.

Gandolfini suffered a suspected heart attack while on holiday in Rome, the US HBO network told the BBC.

The New Jersey born star had been in Italy to attend the Taormina film festival in Sicily.

He win 3 emmy awards for his role as Tony Soprano, a mafia boss juggling his criminal career and family life.

He was a highly respected actor, admired and liked by many.

OP, I'm going to merge this thread with the other one.

Sorry I didn't check first I was posting this morning through the usual early morning haze in my head.

I read somewhere that The Sopranos literally ended mid sentence or something?

I really liked the Sopranos and the story line with Tony's connection to the ducks that inhabited his pool. The whole focus on his psychology, past and present, hooked me for all six seasons.

Gandolfini was great in the role (and about the only good thing in the movie, "The Mexican"). RIP.

Saw this today; tough thing for a kid to go through.
Italian news agency AGI reported that he suffered the heart attack in the bathroom of his hotel in Rome and that his 13-year-old son, Michael, alerted hotel staff after he found his father collapsed in the bathroom.

I believe he also has an infant daughter. I think she is like 8 months old.

That makes his death even more tragic.

David Chase was a brilliant writer, but I think Gandolfini bought it to life. One of the very few tv shows that I have watched all the episodes of. Ever.

His funeral is today in NYC. Last night the lights were dimmed on Broadway.
