I am of the opinion that we are already vilified by the rest of the world and have been a joke regime to many going much further back than just GW. Until We see Americans tunneling out of the US into Mexico or escaping on refugee rafts into the ocean, I refuse to believe that we are doomed as a nation or destined to turn in our world leader badge and gun. As far as a world rally against us goes I find that laughable. Other nations don't get involved with the day to day operations of other countries. They leave that up to Uncle Sam.

I don't we are vilified as much as we were under Bush, but we are definitely feared and sometimes hated. We haven't been the world's white knight in decades. And traditionally when an empire descends into fascism and tyranny, as we are currently seeking to do, there is an inevitable collapse from within, often followed by an opportunistic attack by an up and coming adversary. Empires get replaced. Ours will be no different. Worst case scenario is if we self destruct under the weight of our own vitriol, because we won't get much sympathy from the rest of the world. I could see, longterm, our country divided into three different nations. And very likely within the next 50 to 100 years.

Look to the indicators: vast classism and economic disparity; emphasis on individual greed and barbarism over socialism and cooperative effort/unity; religious zealotry combined with a willful lack of empathy for fellow humans; charismatic but clearly incopetent potential leaders who gain power through creating a vilified common scapegoat for people to hate; apathy and a general malaise among common people who have lost any sense of hope; a willful and directed move away from education and philosophy and disdain/distrust of knowledge.

Historically speaking, from the Soviet Union all the way back to the Roman empire and beyond, these things are clear markers for an empire's imminent fall. We are not immune.

I was sorta half assed listening to the news as I was getting ready to leave earlier and I heard someone say that Donald is continuing to rise in the polls. No matter what he says, he comes out smelling like a rose. How can this be? How can there be such a great number of citizens who think this buffoon is capable of being the POTUS? First, I thought he was hilarious and then I began to get disgusted with him and now I'm starting to feel a little nervous. My only consolation in that is that the election is still a year away.

The third Democratic debate will take place tonight in New Hampshire (where Sanders has a slight lead over Clinton).



Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and Martin O'Malley will take the stage at 8pm ET. The debate will be hosted by ABC network.

Sanders has dropped his lawsuit against the Democratic National Convention (DNC), and DNC Chairperson Debbie Wasserman-Schultz has announced that the Sanders campaign once again has access to the DNC voter database now that they're cooperating with the data breach investigation.

Sanders' campaign contends that they weren't seeking to access Clinton's voter data when it became visible due to a firewall glitch (for which the vendor is to blame). Sanders' campaigners say none of Clinton's voter data was downloaded and the axed director claims he was trying to figure out what the heck was going on when he searched the data.

Clinton's campaign contends that the data was worth millions of dollars and accuses the Sanders campaign of theft because Sanders' staffers made 25 searches of the database.

Sanders has long complained about the DNC's favoritism of Clinton (I don't think he's wrong). He's no fan of Wasserman-Schultz, who he claims scheduled so few debates in order not to risk Clinton's lead for the nomination.

Anyway, this data breach drama should spice up the debate a bit. Clinton and Sanders also have major differences of opinion when it comes to national security, which will be a major focus tonight. I don't know where O'Malley stands on the issue.

If you'd taken the trip to the center of the country I just took you wouldn't be nervous. You'd be terrified. Because aside from the racists and zealots, you know who Trump is resonating with? Scared old white people. Men and women. The ones who DO vote.

I watched some of the debate and cringed when they started out their answers with "most Americans" Sanders dodged some questions by deflection and Clinton spoke of foreign policy like she actually knew something, good coaching there. O'Malley likes to be non observant of the rules of engagement as most Dems do. No surprise there. Clinton will be the nominee.

I don't think that's ever been much in question. Bernie has a lot of popular takes with the hipster crowd but his age and inexperience in global matters will work against him. Unless the crazies upset the apple cart Hillary will be the next CIC.

Even if you don't agree with Hillary Clinton's foreign policy positions, to suggest that she doesn't know foreign policy is weird. She was the last Secretary of State, FFS. As such, she had a strong hand in creating some of the foreign policies in place today.

While I acknowledge Clinton's experience and understanding of foreign policy, I actually agree with Sanders (and Paul and O'Malley) over Clinton when it comes to the U.S. ousting/killing dictators with disregard for unintended consequences, including regional destabilization. That strategy failed in Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Yemen and many more countries before. I don't support forced regime change as a pillar of American foreign policy either.

They are going to people showing videos of Donald Trump insulting Islam and Muslims in order to recruit more radical jihadists. I want to explain why this is not in America’s interest, to react with this kind of fear and respond to this kind of bigotry.'

She should have just said that she wouldn't be surprised if Trump was helping ISIS gain recruits with his rhetoric and left it at that. I have no way of knowing if ISIS is showing video of Trump, but there's no proof to back up her assertion at this time.

Trump lied when he claimed thousands of Muslims in New Jersey were cheering on 9/11. When pressed, he said he saw it on the news. That's been disproven. Yet, Trump's STILL claiming it's true.

Fiorina lied, with great passion, when she described a piece of the Planned Parenthood sting video that didn't exist and got huge applause. She didn't really even get hit up about that bullshit.

You'd think politicians under so much scrutiny would know better than to lie about things that are easily disproved. Sadly, though, the lies don't seem to hurt them much.

Anyway. Clinton's campaign's response to Trumps apology demand, "Hell no."
