Really curious as to the possible motive on this one. Investigators are being extremely tight-lipped.
The victims (shot to death): 16-year-old John Lajeunesse, 17-year-old Dominic Davis, 17-year-old Steven Presley, and 22-year-old mother Rikki Jacobsen (the driver of the car).
The suspect: 26-year-old Jacob Allen Bennett
The bodies were found last week by a local resident on Renegade Mountain, an area about 65 miles west of Knoxville. They were in a car parked on a country road.
Police arrested Bennett quickly; no details as to how or why they fingered him have been released (he has a long rap sheet).
The Assistant DA announced Friday that he is looking to empanel a grand jury in the very near future to consider charging Bennett in relation to the mass murder. He's being held for unrelated parole violations at this time.
The four suspects (three students and a young mother) are said, by a friend of one of the victims, to have been going out to four wheel that day. Police believe they were not random victims, but were instead targeted.
