ANOTHER SCHOOL/PUBLIC SHOOTING
I think Big Sal was just curious not jealous, Biggie.

And, I do believe there's enough of you to go around.

I might try to get a piece of that my own self, but..............my biotchy, bullying, long-winded, pompous, anal-retentive ass is majorly turned-off by frequent misuse of their vs. there vs. they're. So, you're safe, playah. Smiley_emoticons_smile

Well, it's a pretty easy target to hit.

Get off your knees and pull up your pants and you might not be too bruised in the morning.

(It's been real, but I'll give you the last jab and then it needs to be taken to a fuck around thread if you want to continue -- it's Lady Cop's Cell Block and she frowned upon drawn-out trolling and fucking around in here; we respect her wishes.)

Not a damned thing. hah

I'd just read her chat-up invitation to Biggie in the Trump thread, and his later comment that Hillary Clinton looks like Aussie on a bender in the Dems Comeback thread.

Combine that with his many oh-so-cutting jabs about aussie being mental and his celebration of the homicidal old fart, and it came across as the pitch black pot calling the kettle black. So......it's a cross-thread theme, I guess.

Now, if aussie comes in here all liquored up and offering to chat up Biggie again, I'll have to stand corrected.

I think that guy has a thing for me. Don't know why. Anyway, he keeps hounding me with posts, so after a few beverages yes, I take the bait. Not again though.

Las Vegas, Nevada

Strange weekend in Sin City -- stranger than usual even.

First, early Saturday morning, an armed gunman attempted to rob the Rolex store at the Bellagio hotel.

^ The gunman wore a pig mask and opened fire inside the hotel, causing people to flee in panic.

Pig face was apprehended, fortunately with no injuries or fatalities.

Then, in a separate incident a few hours later, a man allegedly shot one person dead and wounded another on a double-decker transit bus which was stopped on Las Vegas Boulevard near the Cosmopolitan hotel-casino.

The city was in a state of terror Saturday as the Cosmopolitan hotel was evacuated following the shooting.

For hours, crisis negotiators, robots and armored vehicles surrounded the bus with authorities uncertain if there were any more victims inside the bus. Meanwhile, officers swept into the casinos to warn tourists to bunker down until further notice, leaving these normally bustling pedestrian areas and a road notorious for taxi-to-taxi traffic completely empty.

The shooter ^ surrendered after a four hour stand-off.

Colorado -- 3 Dead in Walmart Shooting -- Suspect Arrested

Last night a man nonchalantly entered the Walmart in Thornton and fired a handgun into a group of people before fleeing in a car. Two men died at the store, and a woman died at a hospital. RIP.

The Walmart is located about 10 miles north of Denver in a busy shopping center.

Police issued a surveillance pic of the shooter (^) inside the Walmart and asked for the public's help in identifying him, while cautioning that he was to be considered armed and dangerous. The shooter was later identified as Scott Ostrem, 47.

Police executed a search warrant on Ostrem's apartment in Denver Thursday morning, Thornton police spokesman Victor Avila said, but Ostrem wasn't home.

Officers then received an anonymous tip that he had been seen driving nearby in Westminster.

Police pulled the car over and Ostrem was arrested without incident. He admitted his identity to investigators, Avila said.

"This is a very heinous act," Thornton police spokesman Victor Avila said. "We don't know exactly what the motive of the person was, but it was certainly a terrible act."

Avila said hundreds of people were fleeing the Walmart as police attempted to cordon off the area, not sure of the gunman's identity. He said it was several hours until the scene was safe enough for a Walmart employee to re-enter the store to obtain surveillance footage, which in turn helped investigators identify Ostrem.

Police say so many shoppers pulled their own guns out during the shooting at the Thornton Walmart that it stalled the identification of the actual shooter.

It took hours for officers reviewing store surveillance to determine which person was the escaped shooter.

Snip:
The presence of armed civilians at a crime scene can potentially be either a help or a hindrance to police, said Joseph Pollini, professor and deputy chair of the Law and Police Science Department at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York.

“It can work both ways,” said Pollini, who also worked 30 years as a New York City cop. “In one, you have law abiding citizens present at the scene of a shooting that could terminate it, assist in apprehending the individual. But generally as a rule, you turn to the police for that aspect. It’s not common for civilians to do the job of police, and the fact that they carry firearms can very much complicate things.”

There were a lot of good guys with guns there. None of them stopped the shooter. But, I'm very glad they didn't end up shooting themselves or getting shot by police.

What's funny about that, Maggot?

Do you wish others shoppers had started shooting and hit an innocent shopper?

Do you wish police had stormed the store and shot at the people with guns drawn because they assumed they must be the killer(s)? It's happened before, that's for sure.

I wish the shoppers with guns had been able to stop the shooter before he killed 3 people. That's happened before too. But, that didn't happen this time.

What's so funny?

No the shoppers that had guns protected themselves, they did not willy nilly start shooting, they protected themselves and the ones they were with and of coarse the police would downplay it. But the ones that did have guns were not killed and the police HAVE to say what they said, but ya know what? I bet the ones that did have concealed carry were not going to let it escalate any more. Tell me how did the police know they were not suspects................because the guy was gone from the store and AFTER viewing the surveillance tapes made their comment.

I bet not a single carry person was even considered a suspect. But the PD has to make that comment, to save face and let the public know they had the situation under control.

What, you think they were wrong for protecting themselves when there was not a cop in sight? Heh! move on.

THATS what is so funny pickles.

Read back and leave your defensive assumptions and biases behind, onion.

I never said anything about people protecting themselves. I never said they would have been wrong for doing so. I never said that any of the innocent shoppers were labeled "suspects".

I just stated that there were lots of good guys with guns, none of them stopped the shooter, it took police hours to determine which person with a gun was the shooter (facts)............and that I was glad none of the armed innocent shoppers shot each other or got shot by police in the chaos (my feelings).

Still not seeing anything funny about what I actually posted.

Weird the way so many had weapons but were unable to stop the murders.
