His manifesto claims that his beliefs and actions were not inspired by President Trump nor his own family.
The manifesto is said to cite the Pittsburgh synagogue shooter and the Christchurch NZ mosque shooter as his inspirations. Together, those shooters killed 61 people.
'If you told me even 6 months ago that I would do this I would have been surprised,' the author wrote. 'I’m just a normal dude who wanted to have a family, help and heal people, and play piano.'
Earnest's manifesto also reportedly refers to similar conspiracy theories as those cited by his inspirations, believing that: (1) Jewish people are helping Muslims and other immigrants to settle in the U.S. in attempt to commit genocide against the 'European race', and (2) shooting to death Jews in a place of worship would result in the government banning guns, thus inciting civil war.
Earnest is charged with first degree murder by the state of California. It's likely, in my opinion, he'll also face federal hate crime charges down the line.

I haven't taken the time to verify this but I just read that she was killed trying to shield the Rabbi.
I'm so sick of this shit. While there are headlines today, they are not stopping people in their tracks like they used to. It's becoming commonplace and the only thing that changes are the names of the dead.

The FBI has for decades considered right-wing extremism the most significant threat to national security, even after 9 / 11. Back in the 1960s and 1970s, left-wing extremism topped the list.
Anyway, I think the LE agencies remain committed and focused on stopping domestic terrorists before they strike, but the far reach of the internet and the ability of people to become radicalized secretly in their own homes makes it even more challenging (more extremists, more difficult to detect them).
White nationalist extremists are the most dangerous faction these days, accounting for almost all of the domestic terrorist attacks over the last couple of years (not only in the US, but also in the UK and most of Europe).
In my opinion, the public embrace of nationalism as a political strategy by politicians in the West really exacerbates the problem as lone wolves feel more emboldened by perceived acceptance of (some or all of) their views and inspired to act by the nationalist terrorists before them.

I do not believe this is true in the United States. Nationalist extremists are not the leading perpetrators of domestic terrorist crimes.
Just the other day in Baltimore there was a mass shooting at a BBQ, To report on mass shootings and only report on white supremacy shootings and ignoring all others is not a very non-bias way of reporting it's racist and does not include all. To be a mass shooting I believe there has to be 3 and over. That happens every day in Chicago.

Yeah, I didn't say that white nationalists are responsible for the vast majority of violence or shooting deaths over the last couple of years Mags. That's not a fact.
Most violence and shooting deaths are not carried out to create general terror for a political, religious, or ideological purpose.
What I did say is that white nationalists are responsible for the majority of domestic terrorism attacks in the U.S., the U.K., and most of Europe over the last couple of years. That's a fact.

Anyway, Sunday's Baltimore mass shooting has been covered across media outlets.
However, in catching up with the news, I see there still aren't a lot of details available yet, nor any indication that it was an act of terrorism at this point. It's awful nonetheless.
Here's what's been reported thus far:
Seven people were shot Sunday, one of them fatally, at a gathering in west Baltimore, the Baltimore police said.
The shooting was reported around 5 p.m. in the 2500 block of Edmondson Avenue, according to Chakia Fennoy, a Baltimore police spokeswoman.
She said it apparently occurred at a cookout. Photographs of the shooting scene posted on media websites, showed what appeared to be picnic or cookout items.
It was not clear what prompted the gunfire. The names of the gunshot victims were not immediately available.
The victim who was slain was pronounced dead at a hospital, Fennoy said. Rest in peace.
Baltimore police detectives are trying to figure out whether the chaotic shooting might be competition between underworld groups, a triggerman seeking vengeance or another kind of senseless strike.
Although the motive for the weekend attack is not clear, there has long been an escalating arms race among Baltimore’s criminal gangs that has turned some neighborhoods into battle zones, particularly in the most deeply disenfranchised areas.
There haven't been any suspects identified thus far.

I just got home and read about it. Shit...............again. :(
Two shooting victims confirmed dead. Four confirmed wounded (three of whom are in critical condition). One male student in custody.
I haven't seen any identifications of the victims, the shooter, or the suspected motive yet.

22-year-old Trystan Terrell ^ has been identified as the gunman who killed two people and wounded four others at North Carolina University yesterday.
Terrell had previously been a history major at the school and was reportedly sitting in a class room when he used a pistol to open fire.
His mother died of breast cancer 8 years ago. Back in 2016, his father blogged that a nurse told the family to research autism in relation to Trystan when the boy was 3-years-old.
When the gunfire started, the university issued an alert advising students to 'run, hide, fight back, take shelter."
The chief of police said that officers responded very quickly to reports of an active shooter and 'definitely saved lives'.

North Carolina University Shooting - Update
The two fatal victims of the mass shooting have been identified as 21-year-old studen Riley Howell (left) and 19-year-old student Ellis Parlier (right). Rest in peace.
Howell is being hailed a hero because he charged and knocked down the shooter, 22-year-old Trystan Terrell. Police believe that were it not for Howell's actions, more lives would have been lost.
Four other students were injured in the attack. They were identified by the university as Sean DeHart, 20, and Drew Pescaro, 19, both of Apex, N.C.; Emily Houpt, 23, of Charlotte; and Rami Alramadhan, 20, of Saihat, Saudi Arabia.

Police have confirmed the identity of the alleged shooter as Trystan Andrew Terrell, 22, a former student at UNC Charlotte.
Terrell has no prior criminal record, and campus police chief Jeff Baker described Terrell as "not somebody on our radar."
Terrell is charged with two counts of murder, four counts of attempted first-degree murder, four counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, discharging a firearm on educational property and possession of a gun on educational property.
The handgun Terrell allegedly used in the attack was legally purchased and he had a "lot of ammo." Police have not determined a motive for the shooting or the choice of Kennedy Hall, the campus administration building, to launch the attack.

I'll never be so brave. He had to have known the shooter would turn the gun on him and he did it anyway.
I always think of MS saying that all we can do anymore is hope that it's not ourselves or our loved ones. This shit can happen anywhere now.

Colorado -- Mass Shooting at High School
^ Children file out of the STEM School Highlands Ranch from the office building across the street, in Highlands Ranch, Colorado on May 7, 2019.
Hopefully there will be no fatalities. The story and details are still developing.
At least seven people were injured and two suspects were in custody after a shooting was reported at a Colorado STEM school today, officials said.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said it responded to an active shooter today at about 2 p.m. The STEM School Highlands Ranch, a charter school in the Denver suburbs, is less than 10 miles from Columbine High School.
Police are looking into the possibility there is a third suspect involved and as many as eight people injured. At least four were taken to an area in hospital in serious condition.
The shooting occurred in the middle school and officers heard shots as they were entering the school, Undersheriff Holly Nicholson-Kluth said.
Multiple agencies, including the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, are at the scene to assist.
STEM School Highlands Ranch has 1,850 students — 550 elementary age students, 700 in middle school and 600 high school students.

I'm glad I didn't move to the Denver area, that seems to be a hotbed of violence.

Thanks Aussie.
Sadly, it’s been confirmed that one of the students who was shot in today’s mass shooting at STEM public charter school in Colorado was killed. Rest In Peace.
Police believe that the shooting was carried out solely by the two male students they arrested. One of the suspects is 18-years-old and the other is a younger teen.

Update
Turns out, the juvenile shooter at STEM charter school in Colorado is a female transitioning to become a male. Her identity has not been released, likely because she's a juvenile.
The 18-year-old shooter is a male named Devon Erickson (right). He's a guitar player and theater student who sometimes ranted on-line about gay-hating Christians, criticized Trump, etc.
The shooters had two handguns and a rifle between them. They sneaked them into the school in guitar cases.
Three brave students tried to tackle one of the shooters. 18-year-old Kendrick Castillo (left) was one of them. He was shot in the chest and died, three days from graduation. :(
Three of the other seven students who were injured in the shooting remain in intensive care.
