Will we read that the parents are suing Bullets and Burgers for mental anguish? I sure hope not given it was their idea to let their 9 yr. old shoot an Uzi. I don't have any compassion for them.

Yea not the brightest idea to let a 9 year old go to the gun range.

Something like this happened in Massachusetts a few years back.

8 year old shoots self

I thought that Christopher Bizilj's father was a complete fucking moron back then, and I think that this child's parents are morons as well, but that's just me.

I can't help but feel that it was the parents idea, not the little girl's.

Had this not happened they would have been showing that video all over. Well, it made it to youtube but not in the way they imagined. I agree with you, CG, the parents are morons.

I don't think its so much a age requirement as a experience requirement. Full auto weapons are a handful . Even as pro gun as I am I would never put a uzi in a inexperienced persons hands.
I always start the kids out with a single shot 22 cal rifle. Then after they prove their ability I move them up to a multi shot bolt action rifle. One step at a time.

You're right, this isn't about an age requirement. I think it's a common sense requirement. I'm sorry the instructor had to pay with his life but that's about all I'm sorry for.

I saw a few people talking about this on tv overnight, I watched them all justify this and I watched them all say they would let their little ones handle an Uzi. I hope they all are able to clean out the gene pool a little more.

Agreed, even the military requires quite a bit of hands on training before letting the troops go full auto, this kid had 5 minutes if that.
Just plain stupid

Our local range and two of my good friends made the area news talking about this case.

That comforter with a light pink and blue sponge print on the wall? That child has no decorator skills what so ever!

The rifle they are holding is called a Cricket. They come in black or pink and are a single shot , manual cocking, bolt action, 22 cal, child sized rifle. They are designed for kids. They are what I start kids of that age out with and in fact I bought one for my grandson when he was 6.

What possible need does a six year old have for a rifle?

Its not a need crash. Its a choice. We teach them safe gun handling skills and introduce them to firearms. The children are the future and I feel it is better for them to learn from a responsible adult , than it is to be taught from a shoot-em-up video game.

Yeah..

We should be teaching kids how to drive and issuing them with cars at six too. Also probably introduce responsible drinking into elementary school also. Sex ed at preschool and a condom with your glass of milk in kindergarten.

It's a choice, but it should be a choice at a responsible age, not fucking six or eight or even ten for chrissakes..

That's your opinion and wont knock you for it. I however feel much differently.
I gave my children firearms at 6, my grandson at 6 and my godson at 8. Both my son and god son have entered the military , excelled at marksmanship and done tours in Iraq, Afgan as well as a peace keeping tour in Egypt. My grandson, now 9, can safely load, fire and clean his own firearms.
I was given my first firearm at the age of 7. Not just to shoot but it was actually a Christmas gift. I learnt at a very young age what a firearm can do and no matter how anyone feels about my pro gun stance, I am responsible with them. Now should every child be handed a gun? Oh hell no. There are some out there that would never learn how dangerous they CAN be.
But like I said, you have your opinion about this and I have mine.

Paedophiles have their opinions on kids, too, doesn't make it right..

Plenty of kids grew up with parents who were into religion, drug culture, welfare sucking, scientology and fiddling with their sister. All those things got perpetuated to the next generation because of their parents beliefs as well.

Like I said, your opinion on this subject is just that a opinion and I wonk knock you for it. OP and I have went round and round on this subject and all it got us was dizzy, lol. I must ask though, were you brought up around firearms ?

Looking at this pic of my grandson, other than the age issue, what else is it that you dislike? Muzzle in safe direction, check. Finger away from trigger, check. Action open and clear, check. Hearing protection, Check. Eye protection was just removed or you would see that also. Shots all placed in the target .
