Suicide bombers killed 43 people in Beirut, Lebanon and 26 people in Baghdad, Iraq in the last few days.
One of tonight's Paris attacks is said to have been carried out by a suicide bomber as well.
Reports indicate that drive by shootings with machine guns and semi-automatics were used to hit restaurants and bars.
Some explosions and/or shootings went down at a soccer game where France was playing Germany.
It's being reported that 100 people are being held hostage at a concert hall where the Eagles of Death Metal were playing.
The attacks were not far from the Charlie Hebdo building which was attacked in January.
At least 60 people are dead, but that number is expected to increase.
ISIS is reportedly claiming responsibility.

Western European nations are now at a very important crossroads.
What will they do next with their Muslim populations?
War has essentially been declared on France from within.
IMO, they need to take drastic measures.

I'm sure the governments of Germany, England, the U.S. and probably every other country involved in the coalition against ISIS are on alert right now, MS. It will be interesting to find out if the terrorists were natives or immigrants or refugees or what. Fuckers.
I'm hearing the deputy mayor of Paris clarifying that they know from some of the dead terrorists that they were Islamic Fundamentalists, but no group has claimed responsibility yet. He said he didn't know if the attacks are over or if they'll start up again.
The concert hall siege is over (the band members appear to have been outside the hall when it was attacked and got away). It's not clear how many were killed and wounded there.
The French borders are now closed and the country is in a state of emergency.

Europe may be a futuristic portal to the future of America. The only thing that separates us is the ocean. Are guns even allowed in Paris?

Not the kind of guns that were used to shoot some of the victims. I heard it reported that those guns had to have been smuggled across the border.

A quick Wikeyleak
In France, to buy a firearm, a hunting licence or a shooting sport license is necessary. All semi-automatic rifles with a capacity greater than 3 rounds, all handguns and all rifles chambered in 'military' calibres, including bolt action, require permits. These are known as B1, B2 and B4 type permits. Firearms are divided into eight categories that determine the regulations that apply to their possession and use. France also sets limits on the number of cartridges that can be kept at home (1000 rounds per gun). The total number of firearms owned by an individual is also subject to limits (not possible to have more than 12 authorizations/permits on B1, B2 and B4 type firearms).[95] As of September, 2013, France has a capacity limit of 20 rounds for handguns;[96] one needs a permit for category one[clarification needed] semi-automatics that have a capacity greater than 3 rounds. Fully automatic firearms are illegal for civilian ownership.

All of Europe needs to take drastic measures. They're going to be fucked if they don't stop it.

It didn't take long for it to take a political turn here in our country. I just heard a Republican being interviewed on CNN and he basically blamed this horror on Obama because O wouldn't give the go ahead to bomb ISIS when they were out in the open moving across the desert.

Freedom is becoming a dangerous commodity. Before 9⁄11 most terror groups had wonderfully decorated and air conditioned offices across the States. Getting weapons into France is not really that difficult, especially as they seem to be using mainly AK's and such, since just a few meters away there was quite the war going on in the former Yugoslavia, where all those weapons went into stores after the war.
I was just telling my parents recently that soon it will be more dangerous going shopping in Frankfurt, Berlin, Paris or London, than living here in this sandbox. The world clearly doesn't give much of a fuck about a few thousand dead ones across Yemen, Syria or Iraq anymore, but hit a hundred in a 3 star Michelin Restaurant in Traversmuende, and you will sure have some fabulous media coverage. And that seems to be somewhat the trend, same with that Jihad Joe, get as much publicity as possible!
It will be sure interesting to see where all this is leading. Apparently those guys were saying to blame the French President for messing in Syria. I say fuck Saudi! But that's never gonna happen, right? No matter how many pilots of 9⁄11 came from there, or how much they influence all those radicals!!

It seems "they" like to use dates that standout in people's minds to commit their mayhem. Like 9/11, known to all Americans as the emergency call phone number in America, and Friday the 13 th, known as a superstitious date for many. The French are lucky that "they" didn't target a French Tower Landmark(s) to take down, like "they" did in America, taking down the Towers in NYC, crashing into the Pentagon in DC, and crashed in PA, most likely headed for the White House!
The world has drastically changed since 9/11, and is continually getting worse ever since then! Unfortunately, it's a given, there will be more mayhem!
Edit: Just saw on the news they did attack 200 year old landmark, however, the Tower is more known to the world, similar as the WTT's were.

That ocean between us gives me some measure of comfort. I'm not naive and I'm sure we have our share of home grown terrorists among us (and perhaps more coming in) but I'm still happy not to share a continent with some of these countries.

I'm puttering around my home & I have CNN on. Every now & then I stop to listen to a story (there are a lot of human interest stories today) or to watch some of the video from last night. The fear they must have felt weighs on me and if I think too much about it, it has the power to make me cry. I saw cellphone video of a girl hanging off the second story of a building, she felt safer hanging on for dear life than she felt in the building with the shooters. I saw a bloodied man trying to pull himself down the street in an effort to get away, people were running around him, I saw others pulling a person who appeared unconscious, they each had an arm and they were running as fast as they could :(

One of the killed terrorists was a 30-year-old native of France. That's been confirmed. He was reportedly on the French Intelligence radar because he had become radicalized, but hadn't broken any laws and didn't have apparent ties to an organized terrorist network.
There are over 1,000 French citizens who traveled to Syria and reportedly fought/trained with ISIL and returned; it's almost impossible for French authorities to monitor all of them.
One of the vehicles used in the attacks was rented by a Frenchman in Belgium. Belgian police reportedly raided three homes today in connection with the attacks.
All 8 known terrorists were wearing suicide vests with TATP homemade explosives (requires training); 7 of the terrorists were killed by police or by their own hands. One was arrested by French police.
I won't be surprised if a major retaliatory hit on ISIL goes down soon. 129 dead, 350 injured (over 80 of them critically) in Paris -- those are the latest counts. ISIL claimed responsibility this morning, calling Hollande an "imbecile" and damning France for participating in the international coalition. French president Hollande proclaimed that war has been declared on France and promised to respond in kind.
The open border policy in Europe really needs to be reconsidered, in my opinion. I always had to show my passport when traveling between European countries by train. The border patrol would come on the train at each border crossing and check passports (and sometimes ask questions). I think that process should probably be reinstated for all modes of transportation.
I don't know what's going to happen with Syrian refugees trying to escape terror at home; some European countries were already protesting the EU quotas for letting them in. If any of the Paris terrorists turn out to be Syrian refugees, the opposition is gonna be even stronger.

there is only 1 question you need to ask your self: when this happens here are you prepared to deal with the situation?

Of course, pappy. I have a magic sensor that alerts me when bullets are flying my way. I also have a pantry full of beanie weenies and bottled water should I escape.

Pyro, I hope you're not insinuating that if you were sitting at one of those Paris cafe's and you were strapped, that you somehow would've pulled your weapon in time to make a difference?
Those folks sitting out front had absolutely zero chance of survival. It was a drive-by. Car races up, stops, and the machine guns are unleashing.
If you were strapped in the theatre you may have had a chance.
Anyway, I will definitely join the conceal carry folks if it looks like this shit is heading to our country.
