The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. The fees were the first step. That is where and how we started down the road to where we are today. That is what I am saying. Its like a game of chess. One side makes a move and the other counters and tries to one up the other. Only this time the game ended with civilians getting murdered and jailed.

Who was murdered? Surely youre not referring to the man who reached for his weapon and was then shot and killed. That moron bought death on himself.

Yes I am talking about the man who reached for his side after probably being shot there. The side he did not carry his firearm on.

The Bundy standoff was an armed confrontation between protesters and law enforcement that developed from a 20-year legal dispute between the United States Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and cattle rancher Cliven Bundy, over unpaid grazing fees on federally owned land in southeastern Nevada.
The ongoing dispute started in 1993, when, in protest against changes to grazing rules, Bundy declined to renew his permit for cattle grazing on BLM-administered lands near Bunkerville, Nevada.

LaVoy Finicum wasn't murdered. He fled from police/resisted arrest, evaded a road block, and reached for his waistband where he kept his loaded pistol at least twice when police tried to apprehend him -- all after declaring publicly that he'd die before spending a day in jail. It was clearly a justifiable homicide, in my opinion.
Likewise, if I steal a car, get pulled over, tell the police I'd rather die than go to jail, speed off, get corned by police down the road, get out of the car, reach for my waistband when confronted by police, and get shot when reaching for my waistband again........I didn't get shot because I stole a car. I got shot because I resisted arrest and posed an armed threat to LE lives. That's what it boils down to.

What?
That's exactly what has already been stated several times in regards to Cliven Bundy's 2014 stand-off, F.U. It's nothing new or contradictory to what's been posted in this thread.
The 2016 Oregon stand-off is a separate incident involving some of the same players; it is not about Cliven Bundy's unpaid Nevada grazing fees -- UNLESS you somehow spoke with Ammon and Ryan Bundy and they told you that they were lying when they claimed their occupation of the Oregon wildlife center started in defense of the Hammonds and morphed into a demand that Federal land be turned over to local authorities and/or ranchers.

The facts are the facts -- that's what's right and I didn't make them up, F.U.
You keep ignoring them or twisting them when they don't fit in with your claims and murderous big-brother conspiracy theories. I'll keep considering the facts to be important in forming my opinions.
You have a good day too, old man.

Cliven and Blaine both arrested today - good deal.
David seems to believe that LaVoy Finicum essentially committed suicide by cop. Me too. But, Fiore is quick to tell him and everybody listening in that LaVoy was shot trying to peacefully surrender with his hands up, in line with her previous statements -- even though the video shows otherwise and statements by other occupiers at the scene contradict that version of events.
I get the sense that David really wants to be killed and LE isn't biting. I hope he surrenders, but won't be surprised if he kills himself; his choice. I thought it was ironic how he was demanding protection in jail if he surrendered, protection by LE whom he claims is out to kill him. He's a nutter alright.

We are a nation of rules. We are civilized. Well adjusted people don't say and do the kinds of things these nutjobs have said and done. There are many documented moments where these people are just flat out stupid. I don't feel sorry for them, I don't support their ridiculous cause. I think they are as dumb as the day is long.

I went back to the beginning of this thread to read. I always wait to do that until AFTER I shoot off my mouth. Ha. I wanted to see what FU was seeing because I considered I may have missed something but I didn't. They are all law breakers who consider themselves above the law.
I don't know if this is fact or gossip so take it for what it's worth - I heard the last holdout asked for pizza & pot before he would surrender.

After repeatedly threatening to shoot himself, complaining that he couldn’t get marijuana, and ranting about UFOs, drone strikes in Pakistan, leaking nuclear plants and the government “chemically mutating people,” the last occupier, David Fry, 27, lit a cigarette, shouted “Hallelujah” and walked out of his barricaded encampment into FBI custody.
He also complained about not being able to control how his taxes were spent, including his belief that they were funding abortions.

After the Siege
^ Jail booking photos of Sandra Anderson, Sean Anderson, Jeff Banta and David Fry.
With the surrender of the final four occupiers ^ yesterday, the FBI held a new conference to talk about what they'll be doing next.
-The refuge will remain closed for "some number of weeks" as law enforcement maintains security checkpoints around the crime scene.
-Agents are scouring the refuge to ensure no one else is there. Then they will search for bombs, which could take days.
-Then teams will document and collect evidence. Forensic examiners will work to recover and process computers and electronic devices. Collection could take several weeks, and analysis could take several months.
-Other teams will work on cultural property investigations with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Burns Paiute Tribe to identify and document possible damage to artifacts and sacred burial grounds. The process could take weeks.
-Through the process, the FBI will consult with Fish and Wildlife Service about returning the refuge to the agency.
A federal indictment naming more people associated with the occupation was also unsealed yesterday. Aside from the 16 previously identified (including the Bundy Brothers' & crew and the final four occupiers), 7 more defendants were identified: Blaine Cooper, Corey Lequieu, Neil Wampler, Jason Charles Blomgren, Darryl William Thorn, Wesley Kjar and Eric Lee Flores. Two other names were redacted. Each was charged with conspiring to impede federal officers by threats, intimidation or force.

(continued)
The Harney County Court issued a press release expressing relief that the illegal and destructive occupation has ended so the locals can start trying to resume their normal lives. The release indicated that progress through legal means - cooperation and dialogue - has been made over the years in dealing with differences and grievances surrounding federal land management and would continue to be addressed in that manner.
"In the meantime, the occupation and continued presence of militia groups in Harney County continues to cause division in the county and every community within. Calls for thousands of people to descend on Burns are very troubling. Continued militia presence in Harney County will only serve to delay any meaningful work on the issues that need to be addressed. We are very grateful that the occupation ended peacefully and we look forward to the day when our community is ours, once again."

Indictments in 2014 Nevada Bundy Ranch Stand-Off
Last week, Cliven Bundy was charged with six counts in the 2014 showdown against federal land managers on the open range where his cattle grazed and fed. A Federal court judge in Oregon denied him bail on Tuesday because he is deemed a flight risk and he has been ordered to be extradited back to his home state of Nevada, where he will answer to federal charges stemming from the 2014 Nevada standoff.
Ammon Bundy, Ryan Payne, Cliven Bundy, Pete Santilli, Ryan Bundy
^ Bundy and four others -- Ryan Bundy, Ammon Bundy, Ryan Payne, and Pete Santilli -- were indicted by a federal grand jury on Wednesday and face 16 felony charges relating to the armed standoff the Bundys and their supporters had with the federal government at the Bundy ranch in Nevada back in 2014.
Authorities accuse Cliven Bundy of conspiracy to commit an offense against the United States, assault on a federal law officer by use of a deadly and dangerous weapon, interference with commerce by extortion and obstruction of justice.
"The defendants recruited, organized, and led hundreds of other followers in using armed force against law enforcement officers in order to thwart the seizure and removal of Cliven Bundy's cattle from federal public lands," the indictment said. "Bundy had trespassed on the public lands for over 20 years, refusing to obtain the legally-required permits or pay the required fees to keep and graze his cattle on the land."
At the time, the federal Bureau of Land Management and local authorities backed down in the face-off, halted the roundup of Bundy's cattle and returned about 300 head to avoid any violence.
Bundy, 69, could spend the rest of his life in prison if convicted.

I read the NV indictment. The evidence is all documented by the defendants. On film (thank you Santilli), face book postings (thank you Payne), and media interviews (shout out to Cliven and his boys).
All the 2014 defendants did a great job of screwing themselves and locking this case up tight. And they continue to send memos out from jail and have family and friends post them on the internet (mostly facebook).
They each still believe that their pocket constitution gave them the rights to act as they did. And that the only land that the Federal Gov't has a right to own is Wash DC. They are not backing down from that idiotic stance one bit.
And Ammon is so fucking delusional to think that he was called of God.

They're facing serious charges for the 2014 standoff.
The indictment charges that Cliven Bundy was the leader, organizer, and chief beneficiary of the conspiracy, and possessed ultimate authority over the conspiratorial operations and received the economic benefits of the extortion. The remaining defendants are charged as leaders and organizers who conspired with Bundy to achieve his criminal objectives.
The maximum penalties for the charges are stated below:
Conspiracy to Commit an Offense Against the U.S. – 5 years, $250,000 fine
Conspiracy to Impede and Injure a Federal Law Enforcement Officer – 6 years, $250,000 fine
Assault on a Federal Law Enforcement Officer – 20 years, $250,000 fine
Threatening a Federal Law Enforcement Officer – 10 years, $250,000 fine
Use and Carry of a Firearm in Relation to a Crime of Violence – 5 years minimum and consecutive
Obstruction of the Due Administration of Justice - 10 years, $250,000 fine
Interference with Interstate Commerce by Extortion - 20 years, $250,000 fine
Interstate Travel in Aid of Extortion – 20 years, $250,000 fine
The case is being investigated by the FBI and the Bureau of Land Management. It is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Steven W. Myhre and Nicholas D. Dickinson and Special Assistant U.S. Attorneys Nadia J. Ahmed and Erin M. Creegan.
The public is reminded that an indictment contains only charges and is not evidence of guilt. The defendants are presumed innocent and entitled to a fair trial at which the government has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
