Its totally not Trump's fault. Its the reading from the teleprompter and trying to have his own thoughts at the same time. Studies have shown that extremely intelligent people are smarter than us and are therefore trying to think of other words to say so that we will understand what they are saying and sometimes these words will come out incorrectly.
And when so many people around you are incompetent and untrustworty one does not have the time to prepare ahead of time to practice these speeches and make them sound polished, so these are such true and authentic words and thoughts coming to you in a true and authentic way that may sound garbled but is really just coming from someone who genuinely cares for others.

Our former Secretary of Defense, Mark Esper has written a book. In it he says that when protesters came to DC after George Floyd's murder trump asked, "can't you just shoot them? Just shoot them in the legs or something?".

I don't know why I am horrified given he had peaceful protesters gassed so he could walk to a church and hold the bible upside down. Jesus Christ. He wanted to use our military to shoot protesters.
