I think after the first of the year we will start seeing some action in regards to the next presidential election.
I can't imagine any person out there, Democrat or Republican, who fits the bill. I wish I could.

Trump needs to build the wall and drain the swamp in the next 2 years and it will be a cakewalk for him.
If he doesn't, he is in trouble

This is the 3rd post of yours I've read just now. I'm convinced. Troll. It was the drain the swamp remark that sealed it for me.

There is a lot of speculation being tossed about. It will be interesting to see how it develops over the next several months.
On the Republican side, it seems like 2016 presidential candidate and former Ohio Governor John Kasich (who I generally like) and departing Arizona senator Jeff Flake (for whom I'm indifferent) are the most likely to challenge Trump in the 2020 primaries should Trump run for re-election.
On the Democratic side, there appears to be a slew of potential candidate mulling presidential bids, such as Corey Booker, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Beto O'Rourke, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Michael Bloomberg, Amy Klobuchar.........and many more.
Some of the more interesting pundit ideas I've read include tickets such as Beto O'Rourke/Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders/Kamala Harris, and even Mitt Romney (R )/Joe Biden (D) -- without designating which would/should be the Presidential candidate and which should be the VP candidate.

Not at all. For his ardent supporters "lock her up" meant something. "Drain the swamp" meant something and so did build the wall"
If his base have evidence of all of these things prior to election, he is a shoe in, but if none of these happen then by degrees he will be transforming into their minds as being the big broken promise making politician that he sought to distance himself from.
Then his electability will come down to whether his supporters will overlook these in favour of such things as a better economy, calmer North Korea and ISIS being eradicated. This is a consolidation prize.

I'd really like to see an age limit on nominees for president. It seems foolish to elect a person approaching 80 no matter how healthy he is. So, there goes Bernie, Biden, Bloomberg and Romney. Elizabeth Warren is 69 which is at the top of my imaginary age limit.
Personally, I like the idea of Kamala/Beto but I don't think the left can agree who's "pure" enough for the task.

I agree, A Kamala/Beto ticket would be very interesting (if they and the party could agree on which one should play second fiddle).
I love me some Bernie! I get your point about age limits though Rootilda.
At the same time, experience and wisdom are often very appealing characteristics in leaders and I tend to believe how much weight should be put on age-related risks should be left to the voters.

Ideally, but experience and wisdom sure as hell didn't apply to Trump. Let these old fuckers be advisors. I'm probably the oldest person in this forum and I get outraged when I see ageism in play but for the security of the country, we don't need a president dying of old age in the middle of their term. "The new average life expectancy for Americans is 78.7 years" per fortune.com.

There is a shit ton. I was watching something the other night and the scroll under her said she was so & so and was running in the 2020 presidential election and I was like who the fuck is that. I can't keep track and I'm not even going to try. I kinda like Beto but I say that not really knowing anything about him other than he's charismatic.

It looks like Pocahontas will be out soon. She used her imagined American Indian heritage to secure her Texas lawyer credentials that she had amnesia about.

I don't want to be on television and I hate getting my picture taken. I don't think the people would accept a leader who wore a bag over her head in public.

I wasn't aware of who she was so I just read a little about her. She sounds like an admirable woman, her life's work was helping women and in particular, those in the black community because they were even worse off than white women. She's responsible for Planned Parenthood, for helping women get the right to have control over their own bodies. She was an activist. I didn't read anything about her being part of the klan so if you have something, post it up so I can read it too because as it stands right now, I don't see anything not to like. Thanks!
