She deserves a participation trophy. And a cup of reality that I doubt has ever been given to her by her parents. Another poster child that will be used, abused then kicked down the road when her use is spent. The Democratic machine is a hungry monster that only knows how to eat no matter what it is.

Nah, it's not that. I'd be bored silly and lose interest nearly immediately. I have this ridiculous emotional attachment to some of you and because of that I will often take other's feelings into consideration, I think before I post. Jesus Christ.

Is it easier to focus on Greta than on any corporation that pollutes?
Or on any regulations that allow corporations to pollute? Or to make choices in your own life that leave less of a foot print? Were the Dems in Sweeden in 2018 telling her to skip school and hold a sign? She is doing this on her own accord, no one is pushing her or forcing her.

Just having her out there being a kid and yelling at people will obviously open her up as a target. The handlers know this and don't care. They know better but have an agenda that precedes any meritorious intentions on Greta's part. No matter how much she tries the outcome will be bad, maybe Harvard will take her in to mold her into what they want her to be.

I do think that holding specific companies accountable for specific polluting practices is a public good. In Australia we have one coal mining company willing to leak minimg waste material into the ocean near the at risk Great Barrier Reef. I have contribute towards lawsuits. So your point does not seem pointed at me. As the parents in the room seem to be saying is that kids need to be protected and to be kids. They do not have experience of life of which to base their opinions and do not have fully developed minds. That is why we do not give 12 year olds the vote. There is nothing noble about Greta and her performance. She is a child that is terrified and unable to filter her views. She is castrophising and fixated on some mass extinction event. Her parents ought to have got involved well before she was sent off with some mid 20's hip Leftist Soros surrogate chaperone to lecture adults on her "destroyed dreams". It is a tragedy she and her bullshit has been facilitated and encouraged. Its child abuse

But i am concerned with her as the child and as the daughter of a Father who should do a damn sight better.

Greta is not the only one by the way, and she is not the first one. There are more:
Autumn Peltier (born 2004) is Anishinaabe-kwe and a member of the Wikwemikong First Nation as well as an internationally recognized advocate for clean water. Also known as the “water warrior,” Peltier addressed world leaders at the UN General Assembly on the issue of water protection at the age of thirteen in 2018. She began her advocacy on behalf of water at the age of eight after being inspired by her great aunt, Josephine Mandamin. Mari Copeny (also known as ‘Little Miss Flint’) is an 11 year-old activist who fights for the children of Flint, Michigan. At only 8 years old, Mari and her siblings were told not to turn on the water in their city after news broke of a water crisis. During this difficult time, instead of feeling helpless, Mari decided to help out her community and to fight for the kids in Flint and she has not stopped since. Xiye Bastida has experienced the effects of climate change firsthand. She grew up around drought and then heavy rainfall and flooding in her hometown of San Pedro Tultepec, a town outside of Mexico City. When she and her family moved to New York City four years ago, she learned about the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy. Now, she has devoted herself to bringing diverse people together to stop the damage. Xiuhtezcatl Martinez, recently turned 18. He's an indigenous climate activist, hip-hop artist, and powerful voice on the front lines of a global youth-led environmental movement. At the early age of six In 2013, Xiuhtezcatl received the 2013 United States Community Service Award from President Obama, and was the youngest of 24 national change-makers chosen to serve on the President's youth council.

This is why perhaps you started off telling me to fuck off when I told you that she ought not have been entertained and why you dismissed my opinion out of hand, until I framed it around Greta's personal shortcomings and the abusive aspect of the adults in her life. For reasons I already mentioned I think attention to children ought to be avoided. I have no issue with a personal acting on their behalf. Similar to having trustees handle the finances of rich kids. We do not give them an open chequebook. Also not all activism is equally of as much merit. I do think that exposing kids to either having defend complex information that they are not versed enoug h in to defend and from adults, or have adult blowback (example social media sensation Soph - not an activist as such but the nasty blowback on her from nasty adults was horrible). We look after children and protect them from the ills of society.

You see that I did not say that these examples of child activism is specifically bad but rather generally it is a bad idea because of exploitation, and their inability to deal with complex ideas. Generally. Specifically each of these COULD be a little champion living the dream. Great is not and is a terrified mentally ill child being exploited. That is a fact too. But you are not able to distinguish fact and confirmation bias. I disagree with your views on a child activist and so suddenly I am a shit parent in your eyes. Fucking ridiculous, Duchess. Immoral and beneath you. But it was you. Lachlan Murdoch is an idiot trying to turn Fox News into a centrist station and so I am an idiot for saying so? No Duchess. You are an idiot for saying idiotic thins and your Trump Derangement Syndrome. Fuck me, is there many Duchess Clones in America who are so tied to their Trump neurosis that they lose their minds like this? |
