Have you ever bathed a cat?

I had a VERY sick kitten (6 weeks, no more than a handful) that had severe diarrhea that I had to bathe to get the poo out of his fur,but normally, cats don't need a full on water bath.

Am I wrong?

It's ok to bathe a cat. You can get special 'cat shampoo' (or just use puppy shampoo). I think it's gentler on their skin. I worked in a pet salon for a while, and we used to bathe and groom both dogs and cats regularly. Not in the same tub at the same time, obviously. And yes, I did get injured regularly, though some cats actually enjoy being bathed.

Just make sure you dry it really well to help it keep from getting chilled.

Jesus Christ. The kitten was sick. My cats are normally healthy, thus no shit on their fur.

Sick kitten is not the same cat as in photo, sick kitten grew up and then died over a decade ago and I haven't had to bathe another cat since sick kitten had shit on his fur.

One of my ex-girlfriends had a cat and one day it got stuck outside in the rain because its catflap got jammed. When I opened the door it was quite possibly the most pathetic sight I have ever seen in my life.
