Didn't know it when I voted for Reagan but as governor of California he supported the idea of "curing" violent offenders with lobotomies. He hated the Black Panthers, as did J. Edgar Hoover, LBJ, and a great many others. Thankfully the idea was thoroughly denounced by the medical community -- which at that time was nothing like the medical community of today.

It took less that a year before I realized he was a piece of shit, as were the others I mentioned. He was a fascist who terrorized the people of Latin America for their political views and traded arms for hostages with Iran, while declaring that he wouldn't negotiate with terrorists. And many other abuses of power.

The one bright spot in the Reagan administration was David Stockman but he was only there to give Reagan a libertarian patina, and Reagan was nothing of the sort. He was out the door in very short order.

It's pretty hard to know right from wrong when you have no understanding of history, and that's why it's written by the victors. But it's there if you're inclined to look for it.

No. I voted for Obama because he wanted to give this country HOPE. And he sounded believeable unlike Trump. He wanted to get rid of PACs and pork spending. He seems to be a straight shooter and honest politician even out of the office.
