Yeah the waiting thing happened to me too. I went in to my pain docs waiting room walked over to the check in desk
and the receptionist was talking on the phone and saw me but didn't hand me the check in clipboard. So I went
and sat down thinking she acknowledged me. Several people came in after me, and were called into the doc's office.
I didn't think too much about it as there were two other docs in the office there with him. Others kept being called in.
After 50 minutes I was just getting ready to go check with the receptionist to see what was going on, and all of a sudden
my doc comes into the waiting room and sees me and says hey what are you doing here? I said I've been here waiting over 50 minutes and he goes and talks to the receptionist, and then took me in the office with him. She never checked me in he didn't know I was there all that time.
My wife tells me all the time, I'm way too patient. Guess she's right.

I had to learn that lesson also. I am too god dammed patient. As a kid my mom would have us arrive 1⁄2 hour early at least, and then we would wait, wait, wait and she was always asking what was taking so long. It was excrutiating, I hated it, so I never wanted to be that person. BUt then something like what happened to Sally happened and its %$#^%$&##$
Patience is a virtue, but so is prudence. "Professionalism" doesn't preclude human error. Have reasonable expectations and life is less frustrating.
My mom is like yours. Arrive early, get frustrated waiting. I guess it's trying to be in control of how other people behave, which is impossible, but it is possible to respond intelligently to the difficulties life presents.
The Zen of living.

I’m not a very patient person in my head, I hate getting behind one of those lottery freaks at the store. I wait patiently to be polite, but what I’m thinking in my head is “omg,
you fucking idiot”.

My brother Ed is one of those lottery freaks. Buys like a dozen scratch off tickets every week. Pisses me off when I try to have a conversation and he ignores me while he scratches off the tickets. My only satisfaction is when he spends like $30-40 dollars on the tickets and wins $0-5.

Where is the fuel/gas thread?
Over the winter I noticed fuel price was as low as $4.86 and now it is over $6.

She said the dog was wild, and could not be trained as a hunting dog, it killed her neighbors chickens, which she reimbursed them for, and the dog turned on her and was going to bite her, so she shot/killed it first! And the Goat smelled.
She said she told the story to prove she can handle messy and ugly things.

It was a hunting dog that she said was untrainable, she went on to say she hated it. She threw it in a gravel pit and killed it. She did the same to an old goat she said was nasty and chased her kids. She took the goat to the gravel pit too, but it wasn't as easy to kill as the puppy, it took more than one shot. She said she told the story in her book to show that in life as in politics that it was ugly and messy and she could handle it. That fucking, fucking cunt.
