User, how are you doing? I know how hard it can be coming to terms with the fact that you won't see your mom again, so hard, and then there's all the other stuff involved, so I'm just wondering how you are, kid.

I vacillate between being ok and near a nervous breakdown (primarily because of having to coordinate shit with my crazy siblings). My mom’s service is 5/3. There’s still a lot in front of us (selling her houses and stuff) but I think once we finalize the service and get through that things will be less tense/frenetic. 
I miss my mom though. She was always “there”. No matter where I was in the world or my life I always knew I could reach her and suddenly I can’t. It’s still a little surreal.

Thank u. After 4-5 emails or texts over the last couple weeks of whether or not we have a eulogy for my mom or just a few minutes of “family memories” from a couple of her kids (could have one or the other or both), my sister texted me today (last minute)…

“…so what’s a eulogy?”.



Ya’ really can’t make this shit up. I hope my mom is laughing somewhere.

Oh geez, I just realized if my sister gets up there for even a few minutes she’s probably going to talk about her cat more than my mom. Hahaha!

I both laughed and wanted to shank a bitch both. And I briefly explained a eulogy (memories, a little biography interjected with some humor). Geez…

She’s killing me. I woke up to a text from her this morning in the sibling group text and she’s all butt hurt (over nothing) and being passive aggressive/snarky. I have zero patience for her bullshit in the moment so I’m just ignoring her (because…the nicest thing I can do to honor my mom is not to stomp the life out of my sister). But dang…she’s pushing it.

Even though my mom owns a big 5 bedroom house, I decided to get an Airbnb nearby for me and mine for the weekend of the service. My sister is bringing her ex-husband, his elderly dog, her 25 y/o son and her stupid cat to my mom’s. And she was dictating where people would sleep. Ultimately I kindly told her that 7 adults in the house would be a little too stressful during an emotional time so she could have the house and I had rented a place.
Her response? “Well, I don’t think mom would want us spread out but of course you should do what makes you happy”.

Yeah they probably do. She only divorced him because he wanted to see her have sex with another man (her boss) which she did and then she fell in love with her boss (who’s married) and thought if she divorced her husband, her new lover would leave his wife. He didn’t.
Ergo, she’s maintained some weird relationship with her ex all these years (they have two grown sons together) and she still sleeps with her married boss.
I’m surprised she’s not bringing them both.

I had a cleaning business for 10 years and cleaned residential homes for wealthy people. I found out a lot of dirty little secrets. Drugs, marital affairs, alcoholism, kids on Ritalin... One guy even flirted with me to the point that it was really creeping me out so I quit that one. His wife was really nice and I often wonder if she knows what a piece of shit he is.
