I got into it because my husband watches it. I know he watches on BBCA, but is it on SciFi as well? I found myself rather drawn to it and usually watch with him.
Anyone watch Doctor Who?

No, I'm watching it on the Netflix site. If you subscribe at a certain level, you have unlimited viewing of their 'watch instantly' area and they've got TONS of things to watch, like documentaries, foreign movies, TV shows British and American... you name it. I gotta say, I really don't like the current doctor as much as the last one. Granted, he's a tiny bit better looking, but he mugs for the camera instead of actually acting and they've changed the situation where he's now a babe magnet. Even Madame de Pompadour fell in love with him. ::rollseyes::The last guy was actually a bit tragic and you could imagine you saw the pain in his eyes from being the last of his race... this guy's more like a cartoon character. Here's a good example of their different styles of acting: Okay, I'm done. Sorry. ::

For me though there is only one doctor who...................

I never watched the show before 2005 except for a few flip throughs while changing channels, but I found a fairly recent photo of Tom Baker while googling the show and I gotta say, he looks fabulous for an old guy. Actually better looking than when he was younger.

Okay, I guess I'm obsessing on this but I just finished watching "Rise of the Cybermen" and I couldn't help thinking how much more dramatic and scary this would've been with Eccleston in the part. He managed to come across as a competent hero type rather than some skinny twit in sneakers dashing around like a chicken.
I guess I'll go back to "28 Days Later" and enjoy him as a military psycho. *sigh*

If you like Eccleston try the BBC drama Our Friends in the North. A drama following four friends who live in my neck of the woods Newcastle Upon tyne over a 31 year period.
Its brilliant. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Our_Friends_in_the_North

Sounds exactly like what I'd be interested in, but it's not available here for rental. ::irk::
