The "Dave's not here Man" is a hot link to an article.
Maybe linked text in a post needs to be different colored when created?

I mean, where else could you actually sell out your supply of stale cheetos covered in chocolate? Or grilled ketchup and sugar sandwiches on white bread? ::lol::

Chocolate covered Cheetos actually sounds kind of good.

I'm assuming no one picked up on the Cheech and Chong "Dave's not home" schtick...I'm showing my age I guess. They went right along with the Furry Freak Brothers, Fat Freddies Cat, Screaming Yellow Zonkers, Mr. Natural, and of course, killer weed...heh

I know who Cheech & Chong are and killer weed is vaguely familiar but, I have no clue about the rest unless I google it.

I thought it was a Cheech and Chong line, but since I haven't seen one of their movies in probably over 25 years, I'm not really remembering it.
Screaming Yellow Zonkers were the best flavored popcorn ever.

The stuff was seriously cool when I was a little kid, I begged my mom to buy it just for the great box.
Here's the Wiki entry on it: Quote:Screaming Yellow Zonkers was a snack food, first produced by Lincoln Snacks in the USA in the 1960s. Screaming Yellow Zonkers are popcorn with a yellow sugary glaze, in a black box.

OK how fucked up is it that I have all the Cheech and Chong movies?
They were the Saturday Midnight Movie we went to. Friday was Rocky Horror. For a time Saturday was rotated between some weird shit like Caligula, Eraserhead, Cheech and Chong, Children of the Corn, Hairspray etc. Weird times. My mom wouldnt' let us eat the zonkers. :(

My mom wouldn't let me have bubblegum, any kind of soft drink or kool-aid. or peanut butter and jelly sammiches since she was paranoid about cavities. Yet she let me have an occasional box of sticky, candied popcorn. Weird, huh?

Caligula, Eraserhead, Cheech and Chong, Children of the Corn, Hairspray etc.
Big Bambu....::bigsmile:: I rolled the biggest Panama Red joint with that paper!
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

They don't make screaming yellow zonkers anymore!?!?!?::
So where the fuck have I been? Man I could go for a box, no I NEED a box, NOW!

There's several recipes on the web for home-made zonkers but I've tried them and they don't taste anything like the original.
yes, I can cook...

We were in the mall today because there was supposed to be a Rock 'N Roll memorabilia show (what a waste all in all) and there was one vendor there with vinyl - the original Big Bambu with the ORIGINAL rolling paper still in the fold! I kept looking through his box of records saying, "I got this one, I got this one, I got this one." and then there was some guy next to me and he started saying the same thing to his kids..... was kind of funny to watch the kids say, "i never heard of this guy...."! |
