Johnny S. Clarke & Lisa Straub- young Ohio couple murdered
(02-23-2011, 04:03 PM)TotallyCurious Wrote: Comment ------ It has been said that Johnny did not like his mother,
and did not get along with her. Then why does she say he calls
her all the time? Anyway....I think Maytee was probably quite pissed
that Johnny was living better than she was. Jealousy. Maytee has
seen people use the keys on numerous occasions. Does that intimate
that she could have stalked the place?

Alternative Theory -------

OK. Now, what if the Straubs had their locks changed or something
in the way of security done and she saw the truck in the driveway? Or
say there is a pool supply person (obviously) and a yardman and
any number of people who knew a bit about the Straubs.

John or Maytee could cozy up to one of them, hear that there is
a stash in there by some goon braggart who is just mouthing off
because he has had a few too many. I know I have heard people'say
"They have a full bar in their basement, three of each and cases
of wine." about a friend and it was true. But it might not have been
true either.

So some jerkoff says "Yeah, they got big time money stashed there
I bet. He bought a fireproof safe." Well, I happen to have a
fireproof gun safe. It is in a locked closet in the garage and also
has a lock on it and the ammunition is not stored with it.

Long story short.........Maytee and John decide to have some of
their gangsta friends get the goodies. It goes bad. John's friends
call him and tell him and he starts to panic that Johnny might have
been there.

That would account for the excessive amount of info that Maytee
told the 911 dispatcher, her use of the word 'safe' and John's
thread to 'get them.'

Too far fetched?

For me it is, I think Mayte is a fruit loop for sure, and hubby and her were into drugs here and there, but would she would never, ever physically hurt her son, or try to rob a place where her son was living and could possibly get hurt, I just don't see it. JMO. And a lot of kids love their mothers but can only take them in doses due to certain personalities, and Maytee has a wacky personality, so I am sure Johnny loved his mother and she loved him, I just don't think this had anything to do with either set of parents, except for the fact that somebody thought Johnny had some drugs and that the Straubs had money/safe in that house.

Perhaps they figured out there was no safe, and in anger punched the wall...

The police said there were no injuries other than the smothering.
The neighbor said his friend or neighbor cleaned up the house and there
was blood all over.
Whose blood? And how did it get all over if Lisa and Johnny didnt have
any on them?

I'm catching up so forgive me if this has been answered- I thought maybe the 2 steak knives that were taken into evidence may hold the answer to this....? Maybe Johnny got some good licks in or something before he was subdued by the attacker(s)?
I've seen some REALLY bloody noses in the E.R. after drunken bar fights....even a simple punch to a nose or anywhere on the head can cause a lot of blood...

good points, Belle!

Go here and type in Lisa's address (according to 911 call). There IS a basement. You can actually see a sketch of the entire property. http://maps.co.lucas.oh.us/areis/areis.asp
:O

I know the address, but I couldn't pull anything up ???? what am I doing wrong?

Make sure you are searching by address. (I think under the data tab). You could just try typing the name of the road and then will be provided with all of the property owners on the street. Look in the list for the Straubs and click there. THEN go back to the list on the left and click on structure sketch, or whatever it says, in that list of options.

thank you very much! I got it this time
from this document it appears there is no basement. says two story. main level and upstairs.

It looked like that to me as well.

Johnny and Lisa pulled the car into the garage and left the garage door open, since they figured they would be leaving soon.

Johnny and Lisa were on the phone with Tiffany when Johnny said he was walking out the kitchen door that connects to the garage, along come the intruders.

The altercation takes place immediately in the kitchen and they are killed. If this is what happened, then they were killed as soon as the intruders came in, which means this is not a "robbery gone bad".

they still could have been there seeking the "safe". but imagine...Johnny grabs a knife when he sees the danger and life or death struggle ensues.
i still don't believe murder was the intent. but it escalated. so they used what was at hand, household items.

i may well change my thinking when more details emerge from LE. but that was my initial reaction when it was first reported.

I really believe the killers emulated what they've seen in movies. Particualarly a scene from the movie "Unthinkable" when Samuel L. Jackson's character puts a bag over the head of the person he is questionings head to get him to talk. It's just my gut feeling. I also think it was some local thugs who are connected with however was at that house the night before when they were having the so called "get-to-gether".

I agree...I think the idea came from a thug/mafia type movie, video game or song.....when this case first happened I immediately thought of a movie type killing...like GoodFellas. etc. type of thing

They were on the cruise to celebrate their 25th anniversary. Even if they hadn't gone on a cruise, it's very likely they might have gone away for a few days elsewhere.

That discussion was the first time I have heard mention of gold bars.
Hmmmmm. Now that could be kept at home.

I heard that they might have a suspect in this case whom is in hiding? Is this true? Has anyone else heard this?

Would a gang home invasion of people that know each other just end up with a couple tied up, able to talk? I think there's no way they would leave anyone alive to testify. I think the moment the perps put their plan into action, death was their intended outcome for the victims.

And I also don't get the idea that if one believes Tiff is involved that she somehow missed an opportunity to save JC & LS. If she was in on it, saving them from dying would be a betrayal of the gang and she would be the next target. She would not be "riding hard" for her gang friends if she aligned herself with the victims.

I don't think there are reluctant participants here. I think Tiff was either in it all the way or completely uninvolved.

I TOTALLY agree with this....in my mind, there was defint. INTENT to kill!

i agree !!!!!

Had a sunken living room someone said, you had to step down to get into the living room. I've seen a lot of split levels that don't have basements. Opps see post says it has basement
