Yeah, me too.
I feel confident that LE has the right guys, but can they prove it beyond reasonable doubt? I'm questioning their confidence in that regard the longer they delay handing over discovery evidence to the Defense.
I also wonder if turn-over in the DA's office has contributed to the delays and hurts the prosecution.
The latest:
"Our client has been charged in a murder case for a murder of which prosecutors don't appear willing to provide information that composes the basis of those charges," said Fletcher Long.
Long, Jason Autry's attorney, is now asking the judge to drop charges and set Autry free, or throw Nichols, the special prosecutor, behind bars until her office moves forward with the case.
It's expected that Judge Creed McKinley will set a date soon to hear this motion and other motions on the Bobo case.

I can't help but wonder how often people are left to molder in jail when the prosecutor doesn't turn over the evidence of their guilt, or however that is termed. It seems to me that a very good attorney could get their client released because of that.

I miss you LC.I know when you got to Heaven you sat down with God and asked him all about these cases. She probably said to God 'don't let them get away with it throw the book at them'. What a disgraceful disgusting bunch of cretins. LC would now know all about Jon Benet Ramsey too. *sigh* wish she was still here.

Those prosecutors need to get their act together. I understand there have been some changes in that particular office but this is ridiculous. Right now I'm thinking if those men could afford top notch counsel there is a chance they could be out of jail. I say that knowing nothing about the law but I do know money is powerful.

Thanks so much for keeping us updated on Holly's case, Mamacita.
If the prosecutor's office doesn't hand over the discovery soon, we're gonna expect you to warm up your ass kickin' leg and head on down to the court house to light a fire under them.
Seriously, I don't blame the scumbags' attorneys for complaining about having no access to the evidence this long after the arrests. And, the longer it takes for them to gain access to it, the further out the trials get pushed.
Anyway, today the judge ruled that Shelby County prosecutor Jennifer Nichols will remain on the Holly Bobo case. One of the defense attorneys had challenged her being appointed to it.
No doubt, turn-over in the DA's office is at least part of why this is dragging so slowly, which has gotta really suck for Holly's family.
Jennifer Nichols ^ is the third prosecutor to take over the case since Holly Bobo was murdered in 2011. She blames much of the delay in handing over evidence on a defense motion to have her vacated from the case. Source: http://www.tennessean.com/story/news/cri.../24994633/
Also at today's hearing, the judge scheduled a court date for June 3 rd to review motions, including the demand that evidence be produced and presented to the Defense teams ASAP.

I don't think they have the kind of evidence they need to build a case against them. I sure hope I'm wrong.

I hope you're wrong too, but I'm worried that you may be right.
I wonder how much the prosecution case was relying on the testimony of their immunity witness Shayne Austin. IMO, the DA's office did a piss poor job managing and securing that now-dead witness. I hope he wasn't considered key to proving the case.
Anyway, I think the legal proceedings are gonna start moving along now that Nichols is confirmed to be staying on the case, hopefully til its conclusion. We might finally learn more about the evidence at the June 3 rd motions hearing.

Thanks Js. The attorneys on both sides of this case are an effin' mess, IMO.
POS Jason Autrey will need a new defense attorney. I hope that doesn't slow the case down yet again after it finally started rolling along last month.
Attorney ^ Fletcher Long, who represents suspect Jason Autrey, and ^ Carrie Gasaway were accused of pressuring a client to pay more money.
When she didn’t, they had her arrested.
Now that they have been found guilty, the two could face two to twelve years in prison or probation.
The outcome of the trial was expected to have a big impact on the Bobo case.
According to experts, Long will likely be disbarred and taken off the case after being convicted of a felony. Sentencing will take place in the next 45 days.

I don't think I've ever read a case where no evidence has been presented in order to justify keeping someone confined. I think the only thing standing between those guys and their freedom is lack of a better attorney.

I really hope it's progress too Duchess.
I kinda worries me though.
Dylan was the source of information that pointed LE to his brother Zachary in the first place. Dylan's information reportedly enabled LE to get the search warrants for Zach's residence.
The prosecution already lost its other witness, Shayne Austin, when they revoked his immunity and charged him as an accessory. Now he's dead.
Without Shayne Austin's account and without Dylan as a cooperative witness, the still-unknown evidence better be air tight and point to Zachary Adams, Jason Autry, and now Dylan Adams too.
I want everyone involved to go down. I hope the prosecution is managing this case in a manner that helps make that likely, and that they have such strong evidence that they don't need those former key witnesses in order to secure life convictions against those most directly responsible. I'm not confident of that right now. Hopefully, that will change when the hearings get rolling and we learn more about the evidence.

Well, that gives me more hope that the state has solid evidence against the suspects.
I'm so curious to see the prosecutor's hand.
Thanks for the update, Js.
