Wonder if Britt's was in the same location as hers around 8:00am?
I don't think so MS. If Britt's phone was pinging near Holly's, I imagine Adams' attorney would have made that a huge part of her SODDI claim. That's not something a Defense attorney can fudge or exaggerate since it's a matter of technical record which could easily be dis-proven on cross-examination.

Closing Arguments - Prosecution
A prosecutor described in graphic detail Thursday the last hours of Holly Bobo's life, telling jurors about how she was beaten and "gang-raped" in Shayne Austin's grandparents' barn before being shot in the head at point-blank range by the man on trial for her murder.
"They ripped Holly's clothes off -- her blue jeans and her panties -- and one by one they lined up," prosecutor Jennifer Nichols told jurors in closing arguments. "They took turns."
"That's what she went through her last morning on earth. Then she was murdered -- plain and simple," Nichols said, before holding up an image of Holly's skull in one hand and a photo of the beaming, blonde-haired nursing student in the other.

Nichols' words concluded the prosecution's closing argument in their case against Zachary Adams, who is on trial for kidnapping, raping and murdering the woman. Bobo was 20 years old when she was taken by a stranger outside her family's rural home in Darden, Tenn., on April 13, 2011. Her partial remains turned up in woods near Adams’ home — about 10 miles to the north — in September 2014.
Prosecutors said three other men took part in the crime: Jason Autry, a co-defendant who testified in detail about his role in the murder, John "Dylan" Adams, the defendant's brother, and Shane Austin, who committed suicide in 2015.
Earlier Thursday, Assistant District Attorney Paul Hagerman said Adams described the murder weapon to a fellow inmate before it was known to investigators and had "cracks in the secret" from the beginning.

Closing Arguments - Defense
Zachary Adams, 33, has pleaded not guilty to felony first-degree murder, especially aggravated kidnapping and aggravated rape. In closing arguments, defense attorney Jennifer Thompson told jurors that Adams is "one hundred percent innocent of the charges he faces in this case."
Thompson, who spoke for nearly two hours, said the prosecution's theory was "full of holes" and claimed there was no evidence directly linking Adams to the murder.
"The cases in criminal court are not about what is possible, but what is provable without a reasonable doubt," Thompson said in her closing statement.
Autry had testified that Adams asked for his help in disposing Bobo's body. The two men drove to the Tennessee River with Bobo wrapped in a blanket in the back of a pickup truck, according to Autry. The plan, he told jurors, was to “gut her” and “put her in the deep end” of river so that her body would not float to the water’s surface. But when Bobo — who was thought to be dead — moved her foot and made a noise, Adams shot her in the head as Autry made sure no one else was watching, he testified.
Thompson called Autry's version of events "ridiculous" and claimed he concocted a lie so the state would not seek the death penalty in his case. "Jason Autry has sold his death penalty to the government," Thompson said. "The only price he had to pay was this tall tale he came up with in January."
Thompson said the man responsible for Bobo's murder is Terry Britt, a convicted sex offender known locally as "Chester the Molester" who was at one time considered a suspect by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Jury in Deliberations
The sequestered jury began deliberations yesterday afternoon.
Are you thinking Zachary Adams will be found guilty, MS and Duchess? I don't have a lot of confidence based on the trial, but think and hope he probably will be.
However, if he is found guilty, I'd rather he be caged for life without parole than get the death penalty. Since there's no confession and no definitive physical evidence against him, I don't support the death penalty in this case.
Hoping Adub and JsMom drop in. They both contributed a lot to this thread and I'm interested to hear their thoughts on the trial.

Here in Mock I like to think he will be, maybe only because I want him to be but if I were on a jury I think I might feel that some doubt has been created because of Britt.
I waited so long for this trial (certainly am not putting my feelings before the family or those who have worked so hard to reach a conclusion). It's feeling sorta anti-climatic right now.

I hope he is found guilty, however, with zero? physical evidence it may be a difficult task.

Guilty on all 8 Counts
The Prosecution did a good job. I hope Dana, Karen and Clint Bobo are feeling some sense of comfort and relief today.
I think the Defense did a good job as well; doubt Adams will ever win an appeal on claims of incompetent representation.
The jury convenes again on Monday for the sentencing phase.

*gasp* OMG!
I was afraid to get too hopeful! Such wonderful news to wake up to.
I would have had more faith if juries hadn't so frequently let me down.

I hear ya. I thought POS Zach Adams would probably be found guilty, but would not have been surprised at all if the jury had hung or acquitted him.
I personally have less than reasonable doubt that Zachary Adams kidnapped, raped and killed Holly. I have less than reasonable doubt that Shayne Austin did the same. I don't know about Dylan Adams and will wait to hear the evidence in his upcoming trial.
As for Jason Autry......I think the dude is a total piece of shit. I believe he's guilty of witnessing a murder and choosing to do nothing but keep his mouth shut until the shit hit the fan. But, I think TBI probably verified that he couldn't have been present for the kidnapping and rape by the time they offered him a deal.
Terry Dicus got tunnel visioned, in my opinion. I can easily see how it happens. I think he really believed that Terry Britt was "the guy" and then couldn't let that go when circumstantial evidence pointed in another direction.
Anyway, I don't think Zachary Adams should get the death penalty. That penalty should be reserved only for cases where there is zero possibility that the convicted is innocent. However, I won't be surprised if he ends up on death row and I won't lose any sleep over it if he does.

He didn't, they reached a plea deal.
Zachary Adams will spend the rest of his life in prison for the 2011 kidnapping, rape and murder of Tennessee nursing student Holly Bobo after a plea deal on Saturday spared him from the death penalty.
As part of a plea agreement worked out before the scheduled sentencing hearing on Saturday morning, Judge C. Creed McGinley ordered Adams to serve a life sentence plus 50 years, without the possibility of parole but also no possibility of execution.
After the agreement was disclosed in court on Saturday, Bobo’s mother, Karen Bobo, thanked the jury and then asked to address Adams. She asked court officials to be sure Adams was looking at her.
“I know that my daughter fought and fought hard for her life,” she said. “And I know that she begged for her life because my daughter loved and enjoyed her life. But you chose to take that from her, and you have shown absolutely no remorse for anything that you’ve done."

Thanks Duchess. That's good to hear. I hope time passes slowly for Adams behind bars and his crimes haunt him until the day he dies.

Guilty Plea for Dylan Adams
The brother of Zachary Adams was set to stand trial in May. Instead, he entered an Alford guilty plea today.
That means Dylan Adams ^ is not admitting guilt, but acknowledes that the prosecution has enough evidence to put him away and that he's waiving trial and waiving his right to appeal the sentence.
The judged sentenced him to 35 years without the possibility of parole (his brother Zachary was found guilty by jury and is serving a life sentence).
Holly's mom Karen Bobo said "guilty is guilty" and she's pleased.
Two down............one to go.

^ Jason Autry is the third and final defendant charged with the kidnap, rape and murder of Holly.
He contends that while he was there when Zach Adams shot Holly to death and helped Adams dispose of the body, he wasn't involved in the kidnapping or the rape.
He claims that Zach Adams told him all about how he, his brother Dylan, and Shayne Austin raped Holly. Autry testified against Zach Adams and was likely to be called to testify against Dylan Adams.
I know prosecutors really needed Autry's testimony to put the Adams brothers away since there was no physical evidence tying them to the crimes and no confessions.
But, I really hope they don't give him a free pass or a very light sentence in exchange for his cooperation.
