Yes, and CFL's suck- you can't use them in progressive light fixtures, because they won't dim. In our area we can't throw them out with the regular trash, we have to take them to a hazardous waste site and pay a fee to get rid of them.

That will be nation wide, they will complete screw the environment if they aren't disposed of according to instructions but how many people will pay to have them disposed of?

But it's not as important as where you buy savings bonds.Lame bitch

Take your cocksuckin' light bulbs & shove 'em up your ass. I don't give a flying fuck about a light bulb or where it has to go. Knock your insane self out being neurotic about it, I don't have time for something that isn't going to make a goddamn bit of difference in my life.

Life isn't money.

Life is having the right to chose what you want to buy with your money though.

Are certain types of light bulbs being banned?

The word "ban" is incorrect. While it is true that the 100-watt incandescent bulb will no longer be manufactured after January 2012, it is not a ban as much as it is a replacement. Products in every industry go through a similar process where something that is no longer efficient is replaced in the marketplace by a new model.

"The legislation is meant to improve the efficiency of lighting," says Brian Brandes of light bulb manufacturer SATCO Products. "There is nothing in the law that stipulates that CFLs (compact fluorescent lights) are the mandatory replacement. The government is not telling consumers which type of bulb to buy."

The new FTC Lighting Facts labels, which go into effect in January, will help educate consumers as to which lamp types are more efficient by showing the cost to operate per year based on a national average of 0.11 per kilowatt hour.

What am I supposed to replace my 100-watt incandescent bulbs with after January?

There are several options:

* One option is the 72-watt halogen-incandescent that is available now. It produces slightly less light than a 100-watt incandescent, but 72 watts is the standard that has been set by federal legislation for replacing the 100-watt models. It is also important to select a bulb with a "warm" color temperature, such as 2,700K and 3,000K.

* Another good choice, and the least-expensive option, would be a halogen or xenon hybrid that will just meet the efficiency requirements and minimum life ratings. These bulbs will look, light and dim just like the 100-watt versions they replace.

* A halogen IR (infrared-coated) bulb will provide higher efficiency and three times longer life than a halogen-xenon bulb, but at approximately twice the price.

* A 26-watt, medium-base CFL also offers the same amount of light as a 100-watt incandescent and uses one-quarter of the electricity. It will also last 10 times longer.

Most of the Noble Gases are asphyxiants/poisonous/carcinogens, so don't drop the bulbs. I better look damn good in the new light or I'm raising hell!

We will see the world in a halogen glow instead of a nice yellowy radiance. You know those makeup mirrors that make you look like shit? It will be like that when all the good old bulbs are gone. We will all age ten years.

The sky is indeed falling.

You can believe cracker if you want to, show me what a dumb bunch of asswipes you really are, or you can read real news and read the bill and be half as smart as I am.

I just bought a LED Par38 flood light, package touts it as the same light as a 75 watt flood light but only uses 13.5 watts. The damn thing actually does that, I was amazed. It was $30, but 4 months ago it was $39, so its getting better. This is part of an experiment I am working on, going solar one step at a time. Its going to be a bit of a tap dance, $$ in on "stuff" to do it with, pv panels, light bulbs, storage batteries and controller. Based against the savings in electric bill over the life of the "stuff"
All that business about the 100 watt incandescent light bulb came from studies that is a juice waster and THE most prolific one out there. Theoretically if it goes away to be replaced by CFLs it will save the world and create world peace. But, people being people, they don't want the govt telling them what light bulb to use.

Drums keep pounding a rhythm to the brain
La de da de de, la de da de da

History has turned the page, uh huh
The mini skirts the current thing, uh huh
Teenybopper is our newborn king, uh huh

The grocery store's the super mart, uh huh
Little girls still break their hearts, uh huh
And men still keep on marching off to war
Electrically they keep a baseball score

Grandmas sit in chairs and reminisce
Boys keep chasing girls to get a kiss
The cars keep going faster all the time
Bums still cry "hey buddy, have you got a dime"

You should probably go back to reviewing the demands from your wife's divorce attorney. I think your time would be better served since she is probably going to take your ass to the cleaners.

I know this isn't PC, but I am seriously starting to think you might be mildly retarded. It's just that you sound so stupid and chronically mediocre for a grown woman. There has to be SOMETHING wrong with you.
