I am originally from Detroit but live in Upstate NY now. I have never heard anyone order a coke in Detroit and not mean a coke. Down south I have heard all soda referred to as a coke though. They do say pop instead of soda and tennis shoes instead of sneakers. And EVERYONE I talk to that I went to High School with or hung out with always thinks I live in NYC when I say I am now in NY.

New Englanders call milkshakes "frappes". Maggot may be an exception, he may call them "beer".

That would eliminate any confusion.

I do say that when speaking with them. And most of them don't know where Upstate NY is. They hear NY and automatically assume I mean the city.

Or just do what I now do...Fuck 'em all who don't get it...Jesus Christ...The cocksuckin' state is bigger than the one motherfucking city...Jesus

Exactly. Albany is a beautiful area. While the city may be exciting and full of fun things to do but I wouldn't want to live there.

I know where upstate NY is...
I know lots about NY. And all of it is regarding the railroads LOL. Major Yards at Selkirk, Buffalo Frontier, and Syracuse. Secondary major yards in places like Rochester... oh sorry, got off topic there Ramsey you're such a wimp sometimes. If you're going to defend your opinion you should at least take the time to research it

Oops, got distracted and cross posted the part about Ramsey and her Opinions.. that belonged in the other thread.

I think it's included in their proprerty taxes.I usually refer to my 'bag' or my 'pack' (since I tend to use a backpack instead), however I prefer 'pocketbook' to 'purse'. 'Purse' is something you do with your lips. Of course, I did grow up in NJ (more or less).

It's 'soda' to me. |
