I don't know if New York is like Georgia, but I made more money so I didn't get a chunk of change for child support. Doesn't bother me. Kids figure stuff out on their own when they are older, so I don't even mention it.
He was too stupid to hide it as it was plain as day on his bank records. I don't discuss CS with the kids. I just do the best I can to give them what they need and some extras. My kids hate their father because he is a drunken abusive idiot. For years he denigrating me to the kids and I always told them that the important thing is that he loves them. Just remember that. Now that they are 15 and 12 they know the truth and it's not because I told them.
My ex really is a sociopath. I admit it took me a long time to come to terms with that. But since I have, I understand a lot more and how to deal with him. And mostly how I deal with him is to not have anything to do with him unless I absolutely have to. If I have to tell him something about the kids, I leave a message on his machine when I know he isn't home.

(Sorry, I can't hate your ex with you. That isn't healthy. What is good about him?)

He can fix or build anything. He remodeled several houses that we flipped and our home. He keeps his truck really clean. There. That is two good things about him. Oh and he is a really good cook.

Cracker: Does he pay child support? I'm not clear on that.
He pays some of it but not the ordered amount. He hasn't paid for their health insurance for over a year and that is his responsibility. I am responsible for co-pays. But I pay all of it now. He also deducted $383 one week for a plane ticket he said he bought for our youngest to go to Florida even though I said he couldn't go and miss a week of school and CPS said he can't take the kids out of state. That is a willfull violation and I could have had him put in jail but I didn't. See Dick, I can be nice sometimes too.

ramsey, be prepared not to win this one: http://www.nycourts.gov/divorce/forms_in...s/ud-8.pdf
NY does figure in your income. You obviously make more than he does. Plus, if you figure in attorney fees (great fucking tax deduction, btw, the best one), it may harm you more in the long run to fight this out in court.
Just giving you another perspective. It gets old worrying about shit like that. Can you meet somewhere in the middle? Agree to a reduction PLUS a chunk of that account maybe?

I didn't know the attorney's fees were a tax deduction! woo hoo!! I make more than he does because he isn't working. It's usually the other way around. I don't want a chunk of his savings. I just want him to pay what's fair and what he owes me. Other than that, I could care less what he does. Work. Don't work. Whatever. At least help support his children financially since he doesn't do anything else for them.
OH and I did actually agree to carry the insurance until he gets a job after he filed for the reduction but he refused! He wants to pay 25% of $405 a week and that's it. $100 a week barely feeds two teenage boys much less anything else.
And in addition to not ever asking for an increase, he has never contributed one penny towards sports. My kids have played baseball, basketball, football and done Tai Kwon Do. He wouldn't help pay for it and never showed up to any games either. He would actually leave my 10 year old at the high school for football practice and go home if it was hit night. LEAVE HIM ALONE.
I have to stop now. I could go on and on and on but it's not worth it. I am sure you all have an idea of what I deal with. Except Dick. He will never get it.

Check the rules on the deduction (I don't remember how I was able to do that, my atty told me and it has been awhile).
Just be prepared to not get what you want. That's all I'm saying.
The other drama type stuff is what we give you shit about. You can't be bitter about paying for stuff for your own kids. I bought every cheerleader (you have no idea, sports are WAY cheaper) uniform and camp trip, every piece of sports equipment and dues, every travel cost, all the braces, all the insurance and co-pays, all the lunches and trips and clothes and extras and I did it gladly. I adore my kids. I still pay for some stuff to make them happy so they keep striving to have more than they do now. I like that, too. It is an honor. I buy my son's uniforms half the time and he is a grown man. That is the biggest honor to me.
Child support is for housing, food, and the bare necessities. Nothing more. Extras are up to you. You can't make him participate if he doesn't want to do that. You have to let that part go. If you think about it honestly, that is the real problem, not the money.
My bitch ass would drop you off at cheerleading practice and leave so I don't have to listen to the retarded moms. I also leave my 9 year old alone at school all day. haha

I am not bitter about paying for my kids activities. I am bitter about the ex acting like he is father of the year when he is actually not a father at all. In any capacity. It hurts me that my kids are hurt by not being able to count on their father.
I brought my book and chair to fooltball practice and sat in the son watching and reading. No talking involved. LOL

Ramsey has done that shit since the moment she first entered Mock. By your logic, you would be the most bitter of them all.

Did that make you feel better? It was sweet. Hold on to those things, forget the negative stuff you will never be able to change. There is a reason you are no longer married.

I was referring to her everyday abuse of the English language regarding your sun/son comment.

I'd rather abuse Dick than the English language. But since typos irritate the hell out of him, that is my way of abusing him.

Sorry, sweetie, you can't call it a typo if you use different fingers to type the letters.
