Melissa Jenkins, young mom murdered, VT.

Quote:The only motive suggested in the court documents filed in the case against 30-year-old Allen Prue and his 33-year-old wife Patricia Prue, of Waterford, was that Allen Prue told police he wanted to "get a girl" on Sunday night.

What a sick fuck. Makes me wonder how many others there might be.

Police say the Prues became early suspects in the case because Jenkins had called a friend before she left and told him that she was going to assist her former plow truck driver who was having car trouble.

Thank goodness Melissa did that, though I'm sure these subhumans would have been eventually caught anyway.

Edited to add: New Hamsphire has the death penalty for capital murder.

ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. -

Court documents provide disturbing details about the murder of a young mother and beloved science teacher in the Northeast Kingdom.

Police say Allen Prue, 30, and Patricia Prue, 33, both participated in killing Melissa Jenkins. This morning at the Caledonia Courthouse, the husband and wife pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder. They were held without bail.

According to a police affidavit, during questioning, Allen Prue confessed to elements of the crime. Prue told police he and his wife were driving around Sunday and came up with an idea to "get a girl." He told police his wife called Jenkins and told her they were having car trouble and asked if she could come help. Prue told police he strangled Jenkins there on the side of the road, and then the couple took her body back to their house, wrapped it in a tarp, tied a cinderblock to it, and took the body to Barnet and dumped it in the Connecticut River.

Police say the Prues became early suspects in the case because Jenkins had called a friend before she left and told him that she was going to assist her former plow truck driver who was having car trouble.

Police say Patricia Prue denied any involvement in the murder.

Another little bit of info. sounds like they might have both participated in the strangling. Found in this article: http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/apps/...2120328004

"The police affidavit said Allen Prue used to plow Melissa Jenkin’s driveway, and that he and his wife went out Sunday night, and while they were out, Allen “got the idea to get a girl.”

Caledonia County State’s Attorney Lisa Warren said, “It appears that this was sexually motivated.”

The affidavit does not state who specifically killed Jenkins, but suggests they both at one point choked her. Warren says there was an “effort by the both of them in strangling her.”

Allen Prue’s mother, Donna Prue, and sister, Sharon Tinder, were on hand for the arraignment and insisted afterward that the couple is being wrongly accused of a monstrous crime.

“I want people out there to realize he is not the monster they are making him out to be,’’ said Donna Prue, who lives with the couple in Waterford.

“Neither one of them are,’’ added Tinder.

Tinder said the couple did plow for Jenkins, but they had not had any contact with Jenkins for the past several years. Mother and sister said Allen Prue did not even know Melissa Jenkins’s full name because she paid them in cash when the couple handled snowplowing duties.

The relatives said Patricia Prue is a New York native who met her husband through an on-line dating service in 2008. Tinder said Patricia Prue only knew her husband’s extended family and friends and had no tie to Jenkins. Patricia Prue also has chronic health issues, including depression, diabetes, and panic attacks, Tinder said.

The mother and sister both appealed to Vermont law enforcement to continue investigating so that the proper people are charged with murdering Jenkins.

“I wish I could do something to prove that they really didn’t do it,’’ Tinder said. “And I hope that the cops aren’t willing to give up and try to find more evidence that they really didn’t do it instead of wrongly accusing somebody.’’

Donna Prue added, “I think there are a lot of holes in this case and I think they really need to keep looking. … They are good people. … And I want them to have a fair deal in this. … They are being set up by somebody, I don’t know who.’’

If you look at them, he looks as if he speaks with a lisp and she has a lazy eye. I guarantee neither one was a valedictorian. People make me sick.
Just shut up. Just shut the fuck up right now.

I feel fortunate to live in a country that is civilized but often when I read these stories I don't think it would be a bad idea to put murderers to death in the same fashion their victims were killed.

a little more detail:

Allen Prue allegedly strangled Jenkins, and the two then put the body in the backseat of their car and drove to their home. At some point Patricia Prue strangled Jenkins as well, the documents said.

Back at their home, they allegedly put Jenkins' body on a tarp, removed all her clothes and poured bleach on her body. The Prues also allegedly removed their clothes and put them on the tarp.

They then drove to a boat access at the Connecticut River, which separates Vermont from New Hampshire, and put Jenkins' body in the water, weighing it down with blocks and concealing it with brush, the documents state.

They allegedly took the tarp and the clothes to New Hampshire where they burned it.

They must have been playing natural born killers, The rest of the story needs to come out.

poor little boy. :(

Police responding to the scene said the toddler, Ty, told them that his mother had cried. The toddler pulled on the back of his neck to indicate someone “had done that to his ‘mommy.’” He said his “mommy” left in a car, the affidavit said.

Prue allegedly told investigators that after he strangled Jenkins, he put her in the back seat of the car and left. Prue also said that, at one point, his wife had choked Jenkins some more to “ensure she wasn’t breathing.”

It sounds like they were. I doubt this is the first time they've done something like this.

I can't imagine them never having killed before when one night out of the blue Allen says "I feel like getting a woman. Why don't you call up Melissa and give her some line about our car being stuck to lure her out here?" Patricia says, "Sure," and calls her. Then she participates in the strangling and disposing of the body.

I'm still thinking this couple might be good for Pat O'Hagan's murder.

There's also that couple in Exeter who disappeared under mysterious circumstances - no sign in their house that anything was wrong. Their car was found elsewhere in town. That would be a two-on-two crime (two perps, two victims) though - I'm not sure these guys would have been able to pull that off.

Shrinks will say they came together like a perfect storm, that on their own none of this would have happened. That's my opinion.

prue's mom and sister still in denial, even in the face of detailed confession. the guy really looks stupid, like very low IQ might be a defense factor. i'm just guessing. don't know if the wife is an imbecile also.

WATERFORD, Vt. -
"I still say they got the wrong person," said Donna Prue, Allen Prue's mother.

It's a sight no family member ever wants to see. Donna and Sharon Prue say they felt helpless Wednesday, as Allen Prue was lead into the courtroom.

"He was scared to death. He was like, I'm afraid I'm going to jail," said Sharon Prue, Allen Prue's sister.

Allen Prue and his wife, Patricia, were charged with second-degree murder for the death of Melissa Jenkins.

"He is my son and that's all I can say."

I saw them this morning in the courtroom. They are disgusting individuals who I hope never see the light of day for the rest of their miserable lives. They both look mentally challenged & I really hope that's not going to be part of their defense & a prosecutor puts the kabosh to that pronto. They knew exactly what they had done & went to great lengths to cover it up.

I wonder what her brother's lawyer thinks of Sharon Prue Tinder writing what she did on her Facebook page after stating with her mom that they didn't do it: http://www.facebook.com/sytinder
