This first item in your OP refers to the fact that Holder chose not to charge Hasan with domestic terrorism despite proven communications and ties with an Al Qaeda leader. Meanwhile at the same time back in 2009 the Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC) issued a report indicating that Libertarians (particularly followers of Ron Paul, Barr, and Baldwin) should be viewed as potential domestic terrorists/militia members.

Had the decisions/conclusions regarding the two separate and unrelated issues of Hasan's charges and Libertarian classifications come from the same source, it would be thoroughly hypocritical and more disturbing, imo. As it stands, two unrelated topics, imo.

FWIW, I believe that Hasan should be charged with domestic terrorism, based on the publicly released evidence to date - particularly his many communications with al-Awlaki prior to the attack, and I disagree with the MIAC report conclusions regarding Libertarians (ridiculous).

I dropped my friend off at the airport this morning. He's a history buff and comes from a deep military family; moved around all of his childhood. Yesterday, we went to the San Francisco cemetary at the Presidio. 35,000 military persons are buried there, starting with those who served in the Mexican American War in 1846.

I like the hiking, barbecues and partying that comes with Memorial Day weekend, but agree that it's important to remember what it's really all about.

Are you talking about the US Justice Department vs. the State of Arizona and Gov. Jan Brewer in 2010? I think there was also a subsequent lawsuit filed last year, again by Holder and the US Justice Dept., against Arizona Sheriff Arpaio and Maricopa county for racially profiling Latinos. I don't know the current status of either case.
