In my minds eye I sometimes see him as Yosemite Sam...very indignant & jumping around showing his displeasure.

Yosemite Sam's one of my favorites. Feisty and quick (not to mention the facial hair; always a plus).

The idea of getting ripped, shredded and turned under by Dick doesn't instill fear in me, for some reason. Let's see if Dick is ready to put the moves on...

I'm sorta tough, Dick. Do you wanna rip, shred and turn me under? Follow your heart beat to a blast from the past: ready, set, go...

I thought you said this was a nostalgia thread?

Unless your diappointment was my goal.

You are the master tease, I'll give you that. Always leaving me high and dry but coming back for more. Blowing-kisses

Add: this should definitely earn me points towards the next Ass Kisser award. Mark it down.

I'm thinking a snatch kisser contest would be interesting.

With you being the lone judge, criteria setter, and award presenter, why do I think that you would award yourself the title "Snatch Kissing Legend" every single time?

It's not my fault the rest of the members are lazy muthafuckers who won't take the time to run contests now is it?

I like your contests; not complaining. Maybe you wouldn't consider yourself a legend in snatch kissing; I was just guessing. Smiley_emoticons_wink

I was in third grade, and a couple days before had thrown my lunchbox at some girl and hit her in the back of the head with it. They were going to give me "the stick" for the infraction but then Kennedy got smacked, and suddenly I got amnesty.

I thought that was pretty cool.

Did it turn out later that the girl got hit with a different lunchbox from up on the grassy knoll?

Hell, I remember when kids were expected to succeed in school and if they didn't they were flunked. They were given a chance to catch up in summer school but many weren't able to.

I remember when "love affairs" between people where one was less than 18 weren't considered a crime punishable by ruining the life of the older person. Back in those by-gone days congress critters weren't doing anything that moved while the president stuck cigars in interns and lied about it.

I remember where virtually everyone graduated high school and even the few who didn't could read and write. I remember when illiteracy was rare and I didn't have to punch 2 for English. I remember when the hardest thing about directions was that they were translated from Japanese. I remember when the grocery store sold actual food with the actual price stamped right on it and that's what you actually paid. That was back in the days that most people weren't yet sporting an earl butts. I remember back when rich people had to pay onerous taxes and didn't set their own wages. There was a time when a CEO who destroyed a company was run out of town on a rail rather than given a golden parachute and a promotion. I can even remember when most stocks were owned by individiuals who cared whether the company ever paid a dividend or not. Now they just give anmy profit to the CEO and the institutions that own the stock bid the price higher since the company must have the best leader in the business and a fine parachute.

I remember a world much different than today. A world where screwing widows and orphans to make extra money wasn't considered good. It was a world where people might not lead the finest lives but were expected to maintain a little decorum and not get caught. If you got caught like MF Global you went to jail instead of getting a promotion.

It seems like a million years ago. Sputnik made us want to excel rather than sit and let someone else do it.

Maybe it really was a million years ago. In my defense I was young when I started paying attention to the world like the Suez Canal problem and it was in Egypt.

D'Nealian. Me, too. And when spelling and penmanship counted for something. And when a zero was a zero, no matter what your mom said. In fact, your mom baked stuff and kept her fat ass at home.

So were we born at the wrong time, or have we've just lived in previous ones?

Thanks.

My first choice was always the '20's because of stories my grandmother told and my second choice was the 1890's since it was so scientific and "old school". My third choice is the '40's and it might be higher if not for the war.
