The white BMX bike that Autumn Pasquale was riding on Saturday when she went missing was just found by police inside a small bungalow on the 300 block East Clayton Avenue, the same house where the 12-year-old girl's body was found Monday night.

Clayton residents awoke this morning to the grisly news that the body of a 12-year-old searchers had been looking for since Saturday night was found in a blue municipal recycling container waiting at the curb for pickup Tuesday.

Autumn Pasquale's body was found in the plastic container in front of a house on East Clayton Street, not all that far from her West High Street home.

Authorities have not yet released details about the case that everyone is clamoring for, such as cause and time of death and whether a suspect has been identified or arrested. Gloucester County Prosecutor Sean Dalton said no arrests have been made Tuesday.
"This is a very sad day for the Pasquale family," said Gloucester County Prosecutor Sean Dalton, whose office led the search with the assistance of nearly 20 other law enforcement agencies. "Our hearts go out to the family and to all the residents of Clayton who stood together in support of this young girl."

It's possible some of the hundreds of people involved in the search could have walked right past the blue container.

The girl's body was discovered at about 10 p.m. Monday, but news of the discovery wasn't released until just before 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Up until late this morning, investigators were still looking for the white BMX bike Autumn was riding on Saturday. However, the bike was brought out from inside the house just before noon on Tuesday. An audible "oh no" was heard from the crowd gathered at the crime scene.

I was thinking at first it would be a big recycle bin that shops etc might use. But one from a house you leave at the curbside... WTF how big are those there, here they are not that big, we have two sizes, one for plastics which is slightly bigger and taller and one for papers, I can't see how a 12 year old's body was in one :/

Could the person who did this to the poor girl really just dump her outside his house and her bike in his trash, how stupid, unless of course he wants to be caught.

Police are looking hard at two of four brothers who live in the East Clayton Avenue house next door to where Autumn Pasquale's body was found Monday night in connection with her murder.

The 12-year-old's body was found stuffed in a blue recycling container in front of an abandoned and closed-up house next to where the brothers live, according to sources close to the investigation. The two boys, 15 and 18, are reportedly in custody.

No arrests have been made, according to Gloucester County Prosecutor Sean Dalton.

Autumn's white BMX bicycle was recovered inside the house Tuesday.

Tax records show the house where the bike was found, 312 East Clayton Avenue, is owned by Anita Robinson.

A crowd, including some teenagers gathered out front of the house Tuesday morning. One said at least four brothers live there.

"He's just an average kid, but anybody's capable of anything," a friend of the boys said about the 18-year-old Robinson son.

The friend said he was with three of the boys at various times throughout the day on Saturday, including a Clayton High School homecoming after party. One of the boys believed to be in custody was not in school yesterday, according to the friend who is a Clayton High School junior.

One of the boys is reported to be a 17-year-old Bankbridge Regional School student.

The friend said two of the boys, the 15-year-old and the 17-year-old are "into stealing bikes." He pointed to the bikes that police were pulling from the house and suggested they might all be stolen.

Another friend, 16-years-old said, "they wouldn't do anything like that. Of course, they steal bikes, but that's it."

Neighbors and onlookers gasped as investigators pulled the white BMX bicycle identified as Autumn Pasquale's from a house nextdoor to where the 12-year-old Clayton girl was discovered dead Monday night.
John Whartenby, 16, said three brothers live at the home on this block of modest, older homes where many residents have lived all their lives.

"I know all of them. They were often in trouble," Whartenby said of the boys, one of whom was a starter on the football team.

Neighbors, many who have lived in the neighborhood their whole lives, said Autumn's death was by far the most shocking crime in recent memory.

Autumn was a tomboy who loved her BMX bike, these boys were KNOWN to steal bikes. Just this knowledge alone would make your mind go into the direction of them trying to steal the bike from her.

They have the 2 in custody now, I am sure at this moment a lawyer is being called...and that is when they will shut up automatically. So accident or not, the true tail might take longer to come out.

The owner of the home...well if you do a search she is a worker with the State of New Jersey.

I live in Washington State, and we are huge on recycling here, so each house orders these gigantic recycling bins that are outside and they have wheels. there is one just as equally big if not bigger for trash and its usually green(atleast here). They probably stand at least 3-4 feet tall. I tried to copy and paste a picture of one but the iPad isn't cooperating. I just googled blue recycling bins with wheels though and exactly what I was looking for came up to give you an idea. One that size could definitely fit a body in it, but not saying this is the size supplied or what was used. Apartments and condos get the small bins to keep in the residence and then transfer to the big dumpster (usually one for trash and one for recycling).

What the hell...stealing is that common and apparently accepted? I guess I'm an old fuddy-duddy. It's sure a different world than the one I grew up in.

I guess we'll have to wait to see whether Autumn's killing was sexually motivated or if she was just collateral damage to stealing her bike. Sickening no matter how you look at it.

Ah, damn. Just checking in and hoping the thread updates were good news.

Autumn either had to have gone to/near the house, or the boys (assuming they did this) had to have had a car to transport her and the bike there from somewhere else without anyone noticing (assuming nobody else knew).

I wonder if she was friends with any of the boys or neighboring kids? Hope the two missing boys are found right away and the whole story unfolds quickly. Her family must be in agony wondering how/why this could have happened.

Btw, I believe I misread one of the articles upthread. Thought it said that police were looking hard "for" two of the four boys, but it says that they are looking hard "at" them and that they are in custody.

I reckon if they are indeed responsible for this, then it was an accident. I am not making Not that that makes a difference at all, they would still deserve all the punishment that can be thrown. I think maybe they wanted to steal her bike, she fought back and before you know it, bam, they smashed her head or something. Poor girl.

And thank Heartbreaker and Raisingaprince, definitely makes more sense now I see the recycle bins. What a difference to ours.
