So basically everything reported was incorrect. And why did he go that school if his mother never worked there?

It's all under investigation and there are some seemingly conflicting reports about how much police know about motive at this time. I tend to take the word of Lt. Vance over an unidentified source, but the two LE statements below may not be as conflicting as they appear anyway. Could be that LE has uncovered personal communications other than a manifesto/note that are helping them to pull the pieces together.

Police shed no light on the motive for the second-deadliest school shooting in U.S. history, though state police Lt. Paul Vance said investigators had found "very good evidence ... that our investigators will be able to use in painting the complete picture, the how and, more importantly, the why." He would not elaborate.

However, another law enforcement official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said investigators have found no note or manifesto of the sort they have come to expect after murderous rampages such as the Virginia Tech bloodbath in 2007 that left 33 people dead.

The mystery deepened as Newtown education officials said they had found no link between Lanza's mother and the school, contrary to news reports that said she was a teacher there. Investigators said they believe Adam Lanza attended Sandy Hook Elementary many years ago, but they had no explanation for why he went there on Friday.

Fox News has plastered the killer's face on all their reports for hours. Any articles or news stories yet that focus on the victims and ignore the killer's identity? None that I've seen yet. Because they don't sell. So congratulations­, sensationalist media, you've just lit the fire for someone to top this and knock off a day care center or a maternity ward next.

You can help by forgetting you ever read this man's name, and remembering the name of at least one victim. You can help by donating to mental health research instead of pointing to gun control as the problem."

CNN keeps saying in their reports that they're only going to say the shooter's name once and then they proceed to say it over and over again. He is right but that can't be helped, unfortunately.

Less than 48 hours after the Connecticut school shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT, which took place on Dec. 14, the Westboro Baptist Church is already making plans to picket. The Westboro Baptist Church is known for picketing and protesting at funerals across the country.

“Westboro will picket Sandy Hook Elementary School to sing praise to God for the glory of his work in executing his judgment,” Shirley Phelps-Roper tweeted on Dec. 15.

“They need to come back to Oklahoma,” Bryan Weathers, from Moore, said. “We know how to take care of them here.”

“Westboro 'God hates Fags' Baptist Church is planning to pciket at Sandy Hook, to praise 'God's judgment,'” Margie Phelps tweeted as well on Dec. 15.

Westoboro Baptist Church is known for carrying signs that read “Thank God for dead babies” and the like. It is unknown what kind of signs will be seen, if the Westboro Baptist Church actually pickets in Newtown, CT.

The Supreme Court ruled that it is legal for the Westboro Baptist Church to picket funerals. Despite that ruling, many cities and towns have passed laws that force the Westboro Baptist Church to stay a specific distance away from funerals.

NEWTOWN, Conn. (AP) -- The father of the gunman in the Connecticut school rampage says his family is saddened and struggling to make sense of what happened.

Peter Lanza says in a statement released late Saturday that "our family is grieving along with all those who have been affected by this enormous tragedy."

Investigators are trying to learn more about Lanza's son, 20-year-old gunman Adam Lanza, who gunned down 26 people including 20 children at a Newtown elementary school.

They've questioned his older brother, who's not believed to have been involved in the rampage.

Peter Lanza says "no words can truly express how heartbroken we are" and that relatives are "in a state of disbelief and trying to find whatever answers we can."

I have seen very little in the news about the actual events that occurred. I did see a theory of a possible time line. I think the authorities are being tight lipped because of all the misinformation in the first 12 hours.

I also think that is why the media is hyper-focused on the grief aspect of the event-the authorities aren't giving out anything the media can use at this point.

It's now been confirmed via Lt. Vance that the gunman was not buzzed into the school as originally reported.

However, LE is not releasing details of how he gained entry (if they know; still investigating). Yesterday a couple of reports indicated smashing through a window was likely, but LE is being cautious and stating officially today that they haven't ruled out windows being smashed as having been caused by LE and emergency workers.
