Given everything I've read & heard this past week I have to believe that Sherman feels an immense amount of satisfaction.
His rant has brought him to the attention of many, particularly when it comes to endorsement deals. He could make millions which will be millions more than he is making from football right now. His base salary isn't even a million bucks and he still has a year to play under his rookie contract.

I don't read "sports news" and still I've seen a whole lot of Sherman in the press lately.
I could see the incredible amount of exposure working heavy in his favor, from a marketing perspective.
Controversy sometimes really pays off well.

Not many women do. I might be the product of being raised with only brothers. I'm a tom boy girly girl.

I like sports, playing and watching, but other than playing racquetball competitively for several years, I don't watch or play any religiously so I've pretty much skipped the sports section.
I think I should check it out more often; after we were posting about him earlier, I clicked Sherman's photo from the front news page and read this article in the NY Times sports section. Really interesting piece.

Sherman does seem to be a total character and also very smart and driven. Anxious for the game next weekend and curious to see how well he does against the Broncos.

My bottle of Franks Original turned up in the post this morning. Buy my wings on Saturday and wash and salt them to dry the skin ready for Monday morning. Have a few buddies coming over to watch. No, it's not weird to be eating buffalo wings and drinking magic hats at 8am, not at all...

Me too.
But I did read that Derrick Johnson tackled one of his actual Chiefs teammates, Jamaal Charles, because of the new rules. What the hell is that about? I thought it was AFC VS NFC.

Sorry for the cut & paste but I think the NFL will do a better job of explaining it than I could -
Gone is the familiar AFC vs. NFC match-up that has existed since 1971. Instead, players will be selected without regard to conference in voting by fans, coaches and players. For example, the top six quarterbacks following voting will earn distinction as All-Stars, regardless of how many are from AFC or NFC teams.
Players will be assigned to teams through the Pro Bowl Draft, in which two leading vote getters will join two NFL.com fantasy football champions -- who will attend the Pro Bowl -- to draft players. One of these champions will earn their spot as part of Lenovo's Fantasy Coach of the Year program, which provides NFL.com fans a chance to be rewarded for their fantasy football skills. The other champion can compete for a Pro Bowl role by playing at NFL.com/fantasy.

Referees for the Super Bowl will be paid $173.00 a minute or roughly five grand for each half.
The Players -
Peyton Manning (Quarterback, Denver) - $16,167 a minute. One of the perks of being the best quarterback in football is being the highest paid player in the league. Manning earns as much in a two-minute drill as many Americans make all year.
Russell Wilson (Quarterback, Seattle) - $1,414 a minute. The Seahawks' second-year starter makes a little less than 9 percent of his counterpart's salary. And as if that doesn't sting, Russell will also earn $139 less per minute than his backup, Tarvaris Jackson.

Last game of the season today. It's been a hell of a good year. I pretty much enjoyed every moment of it but I probably wouldn't have said that at the time. Watching my games is not fun & joyful for me yet I can hardly wait for next season to begin. Go figure.
Go Broncos!

There's an ape out in Utah who has successfully picked the winner for the past six years. He picked the Seahawks this year.

This doesn't matter a wit, it's just an observation - I didn't know until moments ago when I saw his parents that Russell Wilson is black.

I'm not familiar with Bruno's music but love the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It's an honor to play the Super Bowl, I wonder why I'm not familiar with that guy. I'm pretty sure I've heard of every of act that has played there.
I've been watching/listening to the NFL channel quite a bit the past couple of days and I saw a piece on Peyton that was so moving and filled with respect for the man. A half dozen men (that's a guess, it was several) talked about receiving a handwritten letter from him. Coach Dungy was one of them. Did anyone else see it?
