I don't know anything about the corporate spew. I read the indictment & so can you and anyone else who is interested enough to devote a little time to doing so. I have no doubt whatsoever that the Special Counsel can back up every claim made and then some because I don't believe every crime trump committed is in the indictment.

What's the point of having a trial if it's a foregone conclusion?

Oh good Lord, rothschild! Surely I don't have to explain to you that we live in the United States of America and our rule of law says that people are presumed innocent until proven guilty, hence, trials where guilt or innocence is proven.

You've already judged him guilty on the basis of having read the indictment, so what's the point of having a trial? So we can say there was a trial?

What is the point of having anybody's trial?   Isn't it to prove guilt or innocence?   We all know trump fucked up on 1-6, but some idiots still believe trump was right.     So now the judicial system is working,  and having those people face thier choices,  just so roth can ask questions.    Every fucking American knows that 1-6 was wrong,  so it is a forgone conclusion that they are guilty,  yet our justice system still demands a fair trial for them.....  meh!

How can the judicial system work fairly if mass media has already tried and convicted the accused? How do you seat a jury that isn't completely biased, one way or the other?

As for Jan. 6, it's far more complex than being "wrong". People see it the way they do because mass media created a narrative that didn't reflect all of the relevant facts. People think mass media is an impartial "reporter", not stopping to think about the fact that corporations are not in business to serve public interest.

The "idiots" that believe Trump was "right" are a manifestation of a polarized society that sees everything as good or bad, right or wrong. Reality is shades of gray.

There's no question that Trump fucked up, but there's a hell of a lot more than that going on. The people that rely on mass media to do their thinking for them can only parrot what they've seen, no questions asked. When questions aren't asked, accountability is nonexistent.

Tell me, CG, do you know why Socrates is considered to be one of the greatest thinkers in the history of man?

If you're like most of the unthinking masses you won't care, which illustrates the point I'm trying to make. People who only know what to think, rather than how to think, are easily swayed by those in the business of shaping public opinion -- very easily. The longer this plays out, the more ignorant the masses become.

It's done all the time. All. The. Time. That's what voir dire is for.

Yes voir dire is done All. The. time.  However, it doesn’t guarantee stopping bias.
There are people that don’t want to be on the jury, so they give answers that they know will get them dismissed. And then there are people who want to be on the jury so they can have their prejudice say. So they answer the questions in terms
the voir dire lawyers want to hear.

What good is voir dire in a hyperpolarized society, in a case where the accused has had continuous media coverage for years?

You really don't appreciate how broken our society is, and the role we all play in it's perpetuation.
It's the best system we've got, geezers and I'm well aware of its faults. You both can argue the merits, or lack of, between yourselves. TaTa.
Wow, you resort to petty insults.
...and now I'm sighting you in, ya big clown.
Geezers are allowed to call other geezers a geezer.  Dramaqueen
Just a few of trump's goons doing his bidding. Y'all remember "stand back & stand by". They are all in prison with more to come.

Would it make you crazy if they got pardoned?
Nope. It would be par for the course in trump world, but that would require trump being elected president again and that's not happening.
