The fiscal cliff

All of these made me smile when I first saw them (and almost wanna cry given their accuracy).

The House is now adjourned until after Christmas. I know quite a few businesspeople & I can't think of a single one who would be so irresponsible as to just leave their office when such an important decision needs to be made and time is of the essence.

Fuck you, Congress. 86

You are no longer in the womb, friend. The competition is tougher out here.

Whoa! I hadn't heard that but I did hear this morning that the House couldn't even vote on Boner's Plan B for lack of support. If they're not even willing to consider an increase on those earning over $1 million, we're fucked I think. Not to say that I'm eager for tax increases but I can't see Obama/Dems backing off entirely on increases. Major, freaking impasse, folks.

Let's see what happens tomorrow...

No specific bill dealing with the cliff was on the schedule of either the U.S. Senate or House of Representatives, which are expected to return Thursday after the holiday break. In Congress, the corridors were almost empty and the doors to members' rooms were locked.

Investors are closely watching the talks, concerned that going over the cliff could throw the economy into recession. U.S. stocks slipped Wednesday after retailers reported disappointing holiday sales as shoppers tightened belts, possibly due to fiscal cliff worries.

Aides and members of Congress have said that a modest, last-minute measure to avoid the spending cuts and most of the tax hikes could pass the Democratic-controlled Senate if Republicans agree not use a procedural roadblock known as a filibuster — a commitment that Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell has so far not made.

The legislative focus continues to shift from deficit reduction to averting the immediate shock of the Dec. 31 cliff dive.

It's official...I hate everyone of those rotten bastards and bastardettes. I fucking hate them all. They are evil and couldn't give one shit less about any of us...none of us, not one single one of us.

It was bad enough going through the debt-ceiling BS a year and a half ago...taking their vacations as if the whole fucking country didn't even exist, and now seeing the same thing again.

I hope there's a special, extra hot place in hell for every last one of them.

They will come to an agreement before the weekend & it won't have anything to do with us (per usual) it will be all about what they can give & take with each other.

I don't have an ounce of faith in any of those muthas.

I believe IF it gets done, it'll be at 11:00pm EST on Monday.

Well, the Washington Post has just reported that Obama has agreed to cut his Hawaii vacation from 10 -17 days down to 5 days in order to be in Washington for cliff talks tomorrow. Oh, the sacrifices. Smiley_emoticons_wink

I picture the House and the Senate on opposite ends of a street tug-of-war rope whenever the cliff topic arises. Obama's parked at the curb in a poster-plastered mini-van with a loud speaker affixed to the roof. This has become a damned joke, imo.

Because they are doing such a great job and everyone is happy...........

President Barack Obama issued an executive order to end the pay freeze on federal employees, in effect giving some federal workers a raise. One federal worker now to receive a pay increase is Vice President Joe Biden.

According to disclosure forms, Biden made a cool $225,521 last year. After the pay increase, he'll now make $231,900 per year.

If CEO's get bonuses for driving their companies out of business then Congress deserves lots of pay increases.

I don't consider the Daily Mail a credible news source, I just want to put that out there...

...I got this from the Daily Mail. hah

House Speaker John Boehner twice told Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to go fuck himself last Friday after a meeting at the White House on a budget compromise to avert the fiscal cliff.

Standing in the White House lobby not far from the Oval Office, Boehner pointed his finger at Reid and sneered, 'Go fuck yourself,' citing multiple sources present.

I've said this before, those people don't care about us, they don't, not one damn bit. I don't ever feel like anything they do on my behalf is in my best interests. I'm so disgusted with them all. I manage my money better than they do, I run my home better than they run things, everything I do to insure my life runs as smooth as it can I do better than they do.

Chris Christie didn't mince any words today about Boehner's decision not to put the aid bill up for vote. I wonder if Boehner will remain SOH.

I've read that there are Republicans who want to unseat him & that tomorrow morning is the time to do it. No one wants to openly say anything but at least one Republican has to bring it out onto the floor & there can actually be a secret ballot (WTF).

To establish a secret ballot election for Speaker of the House, one Republican member will need to step forward and introduce a resolution on the House floor on the morning of January 3, 2013, before any other business takes place. Those close to this plan are convinced that a member will step forward and introduce this resolution.

I'm just catching up on the news of the day & I've only read that from one source so far.
