I'm not interested in posting a lesson here Pappy.  You can find a myriad of definitions with a simple Google search.

I care more about the policies and how they affect all American citizens and the health of the country.

For me................policies like a public universal health care option, social security, supplemental welfare assistance, and the like are not contradictory to a capitalistic economic system, unless that capitalism gets to a point where money rules all and social inequities grow from generation to generation (which I consider capitalism without conscience).

Such social policies/priorities are however necessary for a democratic political model to endure and thrive.  There should be a significant government  focus on the quality of life for all citizens, in my opinion.    

That's my long-held opinion and I liked Buttigieg's response to the question.

HINT: there is no difference. All three involve government controlling production and services. It has never worked, and it never will.  Google Venezuela, Zimbabwe, USSR, Congo, Viet Nam, Laos, Cambodia, Poland, Angola, Ethiopia, Uganda, Nazi Germany just off the top of my head. Yes it was tried here also; read the Mayflower Compact. Fails every time it is tried.

Progressives want equal outcomes or social justice; our country was founded on EQUAL JUSTICE.

Anyway..........I understand you think the three economic models are the same. I don't agree.

I do agree with you that social equality and justice are bedrocks of our country's foundation.  However, there's plenty of evidence that we're not anywhere near achieving those goals yet.  So, I don't automatically dismiss/resist ideas designed to get us a closer, though I don't always find them feasible or prudent.

If, in your mind, that makes me 'progressive' or a 'socialist' or a  'social justice warrior' or whatever popular conservative media label you wanna slap on me as if it's insulting to my intelligence..................I'm certain I'll survive the attempted shaming.

Yeah, I was surprised when he put the focus on health care again last week.  

The fact that Republicans have offered no substantial or viable "replacement" for the Affordable Care Act, which has grown in popularity across parties, was a major factor in Democrats taking so many seats from Republicans in the House last year.  So, I wasn't surprised by reports that Senate Leader McConnell and many Republican senators pushed back.

Anyway, I read this morning that Trump now says there won't be any votes on health care until after the 2020 election.

Trump’s Justice Department had previously said that it should be only partly overturned.

A final court ruling in that case is likely to come by the end of June 2020. If Trump wins in court, there could be swift and widespread chaos and uncertainty in American health care — at least until an alternative system is put in place — as the array of changes to industry regulations, subsidies for low-income individuals and delivery system reforms would be undone.

The administration’s new legal position is a political gift to Democrats who are vowing to defend Obamacare and its more popular elements, including insurance coverage protections for people with pre-existing health conditions and a vast expansion of the Medicaid program for the poor.

On the steps of the Supreme Court Tuesday morning, Democrats reiterated that the issue will be fundamental in the 2020 elections, when control of the House, Senate and White House will all be at stake. Democrats in both chambers have signed on to a resolution urging the administration to drop its legal fight against Obamacare, and the House could vote on it as early as Tuesday.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said the administration will still outline principles it would like to see in a future health-care overhaul and continue implementing regulatory tweaks, but she blamed Democrats for the president’s decision to halt his push for new legislation.

I'm relieved to hear that. Hopefully they will take their time and get it right rather than pushing to get it done quickly like the first time around. I had awesome coverage at a great price prior to the ACA. Now my coverage is crap and 3x more expensive than it was prior to ACA. Someone needs to get it straightened out.

I see the Left is getting desperate. The Meullar  report has not gone their way, the southern border is a huge clusterfuck since they are afraid to even attempt to do anything, the policies coming out of the lefts weapon rooms are huge duds (green dreams, failing economy, who can out weird the other candidates) So now they are desperately trying to get Trumps tax documents and unredated Muellar reports anything to use as opposition research. One would think they would back off considering the way the FISA courts will soon be re examined as they should be from the pre election and election circus.

Unless they find something that is real its looking like Trump will get another chance to "Make America greater" He may even back off on tweeting as the election draws closer because we all know the short term memory many American voters have. But I may be giving the Politics vomit bucket more room to fill. How did politics become such a soap opera?  Elections are tedious and drawn out as all hell, like Christmas shopping on the 4^th of July.

One of the things that bug me about Biden is he said a few times that a drunk driver killed his wife and daughter back in 72. when in fact his wife pulled out in front of a tractor trailer at an intersection and was not even a bit drunk. Bernie Sanders did a Town Hall hosted by FOX News yesterday.  

That was a smart strategic decision, in my opinion.  

Bernie can really resonate with 2016 Trump voters in the midwest who are concerned about their health care coverage, what they consider unfair trade practices affecting their pocketbooks, inequities in education opportunities and quality for themselves and their children, etc.

I haven't seen Bernie getting whacked by voters for releasing 10 years of tax returns.  It was the right and transparent thing for a Presidential candidate to do, in my opinion.

I have seen Bernie establish himself as the current front-runner in the large field of Democratic presidential candidates for 2020 though, surpassing Joe Biden (who still hasn't officially announced his candidacy yet).

Mayor Pete Buttigieg is currently in third place according to the most recent polls.  He's really gained a lot of traction and support over the last couple of months, having done countless interviews and town halls. 

If, like Bernie, Buttigieg can establish a bigger campaign organization and doesn't flip flop on the issues, I won't be suprised if Buttigieg continues to gain steam and winds up being one of the last Dem candidates standing after the primary debates.

That was quite a retarded thing to say, wasn't it? I mean I KNOW you where trying contrast Bernie showing his tax returns and Trump not showing his tax returns, in an attempt to virtue signal Bernie's more righteous behavior.

But you stupidly missed the rather pertinent point that Bernie releases his tax returns and there is no investigations or cries that Bernie get impeached. By either side? Do you think that anyone on either side will try to use this fact as a way to destroy his 2020 election?

Okay let's ask the same question of Trump...ohhhhhh....completely different.
