Milwaukee police have pulled out of the security detail for the Democrat convention due to their inability to handle protesters that will be protesting the convention.

Tis true. The Fire & Police Commissioner issued a directive last week to the police chief saying they needed to make a change and the police didn't like being told they couldn't use teargas or other chemicals.

Cops sure were quick to embrace the militarization of the police force but insulted and angered now that they're being told to stop hurting people. Kind of sounds like the police attract a certain type of person. The kind of person that couldn't get into the military due to mental health issues but the cops embraced them for that very disorder.

If the members of the police force lives are not the same as anyone's life why would they try to protect a place that got out of hand? Do their lives not matter? Do they just stand there and get pelted by frozen water bottles, cans of food and fireworks to protect the people that want to defund them? And let them be at the mercy of the mob while they have their convention even if there are only 300 people there.

It's tough to be a LEO during the protesting that occurs daily, and now the LEO's are being directed to quell violent protesters without the use of last resort TG or PS.

Yes TG & PS are irritating, but that's what it's supposed to do to stop the protesters and protect the LEO"S.
It quells violent protesters without permanent harm, & or killing them!

Without that tool, I wouldn't want to be a LEO, how are they going to be able to handle/control violent protesters,
think about it, by shouting at them! Don't think that will work!

If those asshole "federal" cops or mercenaries or whatever they are hadn't come into Portland, the crowds would have lessened and eventually ceased altogether. That was already happening until Trump's Troopers showed up and got everyone riled up again. And I *might* agree with you about tear gas to quell the violence but they were using it on peaceful protesters as well. You saw the video of the Navy vet that just stood there as he was beaten with a baton and then heavily pepper sprayed in the face. There was no need to do either of those to him. One young man that was merely standing there, quite a distance from the federal building under "protection" was shot in the face by a non-lethal round and suffered a skull fracture. People have lost eyes from these fools shooting off rubber bullets indiscriminately into crowds of protesters... not rioters. Another was shot in the eye THROUGH a gas mask and he sure as hell wasn't a rioter, he's a journalist from BBC.

He also pled guilty to 29 of 30 federal hate crime charges to avoid the death penalty, which also resulted in another life sentence handed down in June 2019.
