That is an intereting topic. Thank you for the question. It appears that research was halted in 2014. And then it looks like funding was was given again in 2017. 
It looks like the issue of transparency has been discussed several times.
And it looks like there were near misses and accidents that happened at UNC.
The only people that seem to be talking about weaponization and the Wuhan connection are cospiracy theorists.
