I don't fancy focaccia, but I think this is beautifully made.

I'm thinking the grated potatoes and maybe some grated cheese would make good tater tots.

I'm drinking something new called Sparkling Ice, classic lemonade--zero sugar with vitamins & antioxidants. It's tasty and I'm glad it was recommended after spending a Summer drinking Country Time only to realize months later how goddamn much sugar I was consuming.

Sugar is better than artificail sweeteners.

Me either. I don't like thinking that something would have to die in order to feed me.

I wonder if Sally will really give up meat?!
Also I saw something awful about chicks the other day. It was a video of a processing plant where they keep all the egg laying chicks and DISPOSE of the male chicks. dispose of them. That is disgusting. This is why I will only buy my eggs from our local farms. P.S. I like that focacia bread and have always wanted to make one of those decorative breads-there are a bunch of beautiful pictures with some fancy designs. I love lobster, but I wouldn't pay $600 for one.

That's been happening for hundreds of years. Have you ever seen what happens when more than 2 Roosters are in a hen house? Roosters make good legs and wings. They don't even care. LOL

I didn't realize the baby chicks were sent to the trash can after birth. (In some places) I honestly don't know where this video came from.

You need a sign that says "I'm pro-baby chicken"

I once bought baby chicks out the clearance bin at Tractor Supply, chicks, ducks and 2 turkeys for a pittance.

We had chickens, ducks, geese, some pigs (or were they hogs? Is there a difference?) goats, a cow that we ate for dinner and rabbits.
We drank the goats milk. My sisters showed the goats at the fair, I was pretty young then, but I showed a couple of times.

(06-06-2022, 08:39 PM)MirahM Wrote: a cow that we ate for dinner I used to know a young woman whose family raised cows, chickens, pigs, etc. Her and her siblings had to care for all the barnyard animals. They weren't pets, they were food. She never came to terms with that and grew to loathe her father. She was a grown woman when I knew her and didn't have any relationship with him at all. I was kinda horrified by that story. I couldn't care for an animal then be faced with their death in order to feed me. That's not a slam on those who live that way, I know people who do, it's just something I couldn't do. Shiiiit.

I used to nap with the cow in the field. I called it moo moo.
My parents sent me away the day they butchered him. I can't allow myself to get emotional about it or to hate my parents over it or my sisters for teasing me when we had "moo moo" for dinner-but they did get scoled every time they did it!

We used to raise pigs, ducks and chickens ( we still have ducks and chickens, but they are only for eggs now. )
While we had the pigs, we wouldn't let the kids name them, my father told me that if I let the kids name them, they would stop being food, and start being pets. |
