I bought 3 lbs of strawberries this morning. Please come & make me some strawberry shortcake. Thank you!

I've never had rhubarb. I know it's sour which I like so I'd probably like it.

I have a very vague memory of strawberry/rhubarb pie and I don't feel like it was disgusting. I think the sweetness of the berries probably helps with the tartness of the rhubarb. I haven't had rhubarb since I was a kid.

That, and the cup of sugar you coat the rhubarb with, before you toss it in the pie crust.

I've been watching people cook on TV and online and the one thing that sticks in my mind is how much salt some people use. It's a tremendous amount, waaaaay more than I would ever consider using. Do y'all use much salt?

In a way, soy, worcestershire and bullion all have tons of salt so I don't add additional normally.

I'm making a scallop alfredo thing this week and will not be using the required salt they say is necessary.
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

I don't use salt either-but notice it in cooking and recipes, so sometimes I douse a little amount.
Also-I love rhubarb jucie-and the million cups of sugar required to take the bitterness out. I used to not like rhubarb. Strawberry shortcake for dinner sounds wonderful.

If you have never had these, I am here to tell you they are delicious. I like 'em with a little cheese sprinkled on top.

I've been craving grilled tomatoes and asparagus, but it's been raining every day just as soon as I'm ready to get the grill going.

OMG that looks so good.
We just had a massive storm here so I got some stuff and put it under the broiler instead of using the grill, which i haven't used yet either this season.

I'm sick of cooking. Why do I have to do this shit. Gawd. I'd rather dig a ditch. Okay, maybe not really, but I get tired of having to come up with ideas of things to cook that I can handle. I think I just want to dump a bunch of stuff in the crockpot and forget about it. Cooking is a tedious chore and it's making me feel crabby.

Cooking is a tedious chore and it's making me feel crabby. You're a better cook than me. I'm usually too lazy to even do crockpot cooking. I've got get some motivation to cook or I'm going to lose alot of stuff in my freezer in a few months. I got it for free but still I hate to waste food.

I am going to miss my kitchen.
