Xana’s family couldn’t attend today so a separate vigil for her Friday.

Ethan’s mom told the students to get back to achieving their goals 

Kaylee’s dad talked about how Kaylee and Maddie have been friends since 6 th grade, went to hr high together, high school together, u of i together, lived in house together, and died together in the same room in the same bed ( this hasn’t been released before!)

Maddie’s dad was really touching - said Maddie was his only child

On Saturday, LE said they have not if’s any suspects.

But have received over 800 digital files as tips since 12/1.
Have received tix results in past week.

Then, last night at dark 3 detectives/investigators (FBI/Sheriff) went to the house at dark. Went upstairs turned lights on -seen examining window.

Leaves with sealed brown paper evidence bags. One of the evidence bags was pretty large.

WTF?? It’s 3 weeks after murders.
What was in those evidence bags???

Surviving roommates broke silence finally - with statements at memorials ( read by others) talking about how much they loved them, wish they could give them one more hug, etc.

I have a poor opinion of those investigating. I don't view these murders as a mob hit where a professional is sent in to handle it and the killer is never caught. I view this as the local LEO's being out of their depth and needing help! Three weeks is too long to be without clues and suspects and now we have them going in 3 weeks later and gathering evidence. It looks like a clown show and that one dad is exhibiting great patience & restraint.

I haven't stayed on top of this like you have so I may have missed some comments that explain every problem I have with the local PD.

Kaylee’s parents continue to talk out against LE - frustration with investigation and lack of information.

Mr. Goncalves also continues to release info not released (or confirmed) by LE, such as:

-Kaylee and Maddie killed in same bed. ( said at vigil)

Last night he said in interview with Fox ( paraphrasing)
- they didn’t need to go up the steps (unclear meaning but Kaylee and Maddie on top floor- does that mean he doesn’t think they were intended targets?)
- different manners of death, different attack area (not clear if he meant K and M diff from each other OR if K&M different from Ethan & Xana. We know autopsy showed all were stabbed, so what could this mean? Location of stab wounds? Ferocity of attacks varied by individual?)

New info he released:
point of entry was either slider or window on middle floor of house ( where X and E found). Explanation sounds like he thinks that means either K or M were targets or killer wouldn’t have gone upstairs to kill them
Seems like he knows who he thinks was the target but he has been asked not to say it

He’s concerned about investigation and wants police to share alibis of those that were cleared.
I get he’s a grieving father but also wonder how good it is for him to release info not released by LE and how much of that is just his opinion vs a conclusion reached by the investigators.

I also think you have to listen to him with some caution - he’s basing a lot off his perception of Kaylee and Maddie’s bodies when returned to families for funeral. 
But he seems to have much less information about Xana and Ethan. So his comparisons and opinions are based on only 2 of the four killed.

Also another cleared early was Jack - Kaylee’s ex bf - but early on Kaylee’s family was very vocal in their full support of Jack not being the murderer

I’m guessing LE knows but not releasing. They likely can tell by blood transfer mixtures on the kids after 1^st victim.

There was a press release today by LE.
Focused on Xana and Ethan - wanting info on their locations the night leading up to murder.
Talked about Kaylee’s dog - found in a room in the house and no indication it was ever in crime scene rooms.
Reiterated that at this time detectives don’t believe these people involved

Today’s update:

-HVAC truck at house where murder happened (could this be to check out ducts/vents for evidence?)
-tomorrow LE will start removing some of victim’s personal belongings to return to families
- head of Sigma Chi fraternity spoke with press and said they have no security cameras at the frat house and have already told LE everything they could about the night before murder (Xana and Ethan made appearance at a party there)
- MPD Chief gave interview without adding much except that the case is not cold. Just because they aren’t releasing information to public doesn’t mean they don’t have it.

Social Media has been going absolutely nuts accusing food truck hoodie guy (JS) even though police cleared him. It’s way out of control and wrong what’s happening on FB/TikTok/ rumors stated as fact, even citing certain things as fact when the origin was psychic. Apparently his mother is concerned/tired of these unfounded accusations and posted that JS gave DNA to police and detailed alibi ( which is different from what online mob is saying.)

Also ex-FBI agent spoke out about Kaylee’s dad’s seeming media obsession and inconsistent statements of things he has not been told by LE. Her dad is stoking a lot of speculation online - definitely not helping. And just weird how he likes to call himself alpha male.
