Sure you can google & get Answers dot com's or Webster's definition etc, but there is an open argument about what Racsim is. Sure it's wrong, but the effects of racism are quite real. So arguing that race isn't real is an exercise in futility. When racist people are confronted with the facts - That human beings are simply human beings and that race, as a biological concept, is not real or valid - what do they do? ...suddenly drop the Racist foil & warmly welcome those they previously hated into their homes to use their toilets and wed their daughters? Anyone with a basic education knows that there is no "Race" from the scientific standpoint. Life is classified by Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, and Species. Very basic knowledge. But despite this, past scientists STILL set out to classify human beings by race (even though they KNEW DAMNED WELL that it was a social construct and not a scientific concept), proove that certain people were more "human" than others, or prove that people who fit into certain "racial categories" were inferior or superior.
(Related Tangent: I worked in the field of science (biotech to be exact) for about 10 years. I love science. One thing I did not love: I discovered that scientists will often be "directed" to scientifically prove social conventions / beliefs... Anything they find which goes against the social grain is definitely not used to effect any change in society and it's often disregarded & discarded. So, most science isn't exactly pure. Science has never really been used for any type of social "revolution"...usually, it's used to cimply reinforce the social order.) I am not including medical advancs in my comment here. Those are often "revolutionary".

So you can chase your tail by arguing about how race isn't real and sing to the choir about race not being real. But we all know that certain ideas are very powerful and they operate in society as if they are real. The argument is pointless because the truth is well-known and it is futile because it does nothing to solve the problem.
