The tax rebates that taxpayers now enjoy weren't part of the Bush tax plan. Democrats argued, correctly, for front-loading a rebate to help kick-start the economy. Keynesian economists, admittedly an endangered species, are suggesting that significant deficit spending might be necessary to get us out of this downturn. At the very least, government shouldn't be running a surplus in the midst of a global downturn.

Sure, what is left of the surplus comes from Social Security and Medicare payroll taxes, but so what? Spending the surplus doesn't "raid" Social Security and Medicare. The trust funds are credited with government bonds for every dollar of surplus, no matter what is done with the money. Both parties "raided" the trust-fund surpluses for years without anyone saying a word.

I *almost* had to have an abortion about 6 yrs ago at the age of 38. Birth control failure and me being 38 and HAVING health insurance I can barely afford then and now, had no coverage for the birth or a baby after. I was not going to go welfare and didn't qualify.....unless I quit my job and gave up everything I had worked for. I was not going to suck off the government and after a long and hard 2 weeks made the decision to take the abortion pill. However I had to travel over 100 miles to the closest PP and had to PAY for proccedure I didn't need to have as I was not pregnant.

At 38 it was the worst experience in my life because I was stuck knowing I couldn't afford a baby and stuck knowing the decision of ending something. Thank God I didn't have to make that decision but that decision also showed me the hypocrites that I had to face in doing so.

Again, I had to pay to confirm I was not pregnant and had to pay for the test.

Would I do it again if I had to? (been fixed so yall dont have to worry about me sucking off the government ever again....) Damn right!

Although I am feeling now I missed the opportunity to be a lazy slob and not work and get my check every month........... Especially according to most.
