Titans trying to save some face while getting rid of DGB. Tons of talent, too many problems. They get the question out of town and plop Donkey Kong in the "What did this pick get us?" answer. Too bad Dennis is too big to play guard, and not good enough to play tackle. Idunno, maybe he flourishes akin to King Dunlap's blossoming in San Diego. I don't expect it, he looked like garbage with the 2nd team OL.

The Eagles get a headcase 6'5 receiver. They get to look like they're addressing obvious needs. Maybe. All I know is that in preseason game 1, the WRs and OL looked like insults to football. Neither can really get much worse. Pederson takes the risk with the even trade tho.
Amen.
Vikes out in Seattle tonight.

Don't even play Bridgewater IMO.

He's seen them twice in his last 6 games.

The only thing that can happen here is he gets killed.

Leave him in Minny.

Tonight we play the Steelers at their house. I don't even know a bunch of the names I keep seeing. Smiley_emoticons_slash
I just figured out the best way ever to catch all the football action I miss without having to sit and watch all the games which murders my ADHD. YouTube has somebody putting up game highlights from every game, couple minutes of good and bad moments, unbiased and without some sportscaster trying to put some storyline spin on it.. Nice...

Is that your fathers fault too? hah
Probably, they did huge amounts of amphetamine while I was in utero. Story goes I didn't sleep for six months. If only I'd been raised by a washed up metalhead I'd have turned out a lot better I suspect.

Got my wish.

Teddy didn't even take a snap last night, which came as a surprise. (Russell Wilson played the entire 1st half for instance).

The radio talkers are all searching for some sort of conspiracy this morning.
My game was blacked out. I have never had that happen before this preseason. Bitches. What the hell am i paying all that money for.

If only.
The birds are shaping up. Looking forward to seeing how they play in the season opener.
Vikings played pretty well yesterday against a pretty sucky Chargers squad.

Our Red Zone efficiency wasn't very good, but, when Adrian is not on the field, it doesn't allow you to see how they'd really operate if all the pieces were in place.

On another note, I guess the new stadium was a hit.

The real test comes Sept 18th when Rodgers and the Packers visit for a Sunday prime time game.

Oh... and Matthews returned to practice today.

Smiley_emoticons_skeptisch I just got a notification from the Eagles saying they traded Sam to the Vikings.

I look forward to reading your opinion, MS.

All my buddies and I agree.

We like this move.

The options to replace Bridgewater were:

1. Stand pat and do nothing and enter the season with Shaun Hill and an injured undrafted rookie in Joel Stave (U of WI) as the team's QB's. That would've been horrible.

2. Wait until the league's final cutdown day and see if a QB got released. Would've been someone not much better than Hill or Stave.

3. Go make a bold move and take a win-now approach to this season.

Many outside of MN will say the Vikes overpaid for Bradford, and that he's injury prone. The injury history scares me.

However, this is what excites me:

Bradford threw for 3700 yards in 14 games last year for Philly.

This is also the most complete team he will have played for.

To me, the only way this deal really sucks is if he gets injured and is lost for the year.

BTW: he's also signed for 2 years at $10M per, which is a decent number. With the severity of Teddy's injury, we'll probably need Bradford at least 2 years.

Bottom line: I'm now excited about this season again.
The Eagles have looked ridiculously good in the preseason. The D-line looks dominant and the defense as a whole has looked inspired. It's hard not to be excited for them, but I'm trying very hard to remain even keel. I didn't expect them to be good this year, and it's only the preseason. We'll see.

The truly surprising part has been the depth of talent from backups and rookies. B. Allen, Shittu, and Vaeao have looked solid. Jalen Mills has played hard and fast. CJ Smith... my God. Ed Reynolds made a case for himself in the 4th preseason game. Gause too. Turner and Watford have balled out. Cayleb Jones has potential. Byron Marshall has done nothing but look shifty and strong. Maybe those guys are only good against backups and never crack the starting roster, but if they can beat backups, at least a few have to have starter potential. And I expect half of them to be cut just because of numbers.

In regards to Bradford, it's a smart decision. It was always the plan to trade him after the season for a 2nd +something. Doing it now gets them a first, capitalizing on the Viking's shitty luck. They'd be better this season with him, but long term they're better with Wentz and the first.

For the vikes' side... interested to see the cap implications. Giving up a first for a temporary fix surprises me. I guess Zimmer wants to win now.

I'm glad to see you!

I wondered what your opinion of pre-season has been. I know you're the voice of reason and you're fair.
I think the vikes decision to pull the trigger on Bradford has a lot to do with AP. He's no spring chicken anymore.

Duchess any opinion on what I said ^?

People don't normally ask my opinion on football so thanks for that!

I think you're lucky to have him, MS. Y'all gave up a great deal to have him and after reading some fan posts I see that most all think Howie is a God for pulling that off. I think you're going to be just fine with him, probably better off than me. Injuries happen as we all well know but I really think he'll be okay. I wish him much success.

I was shocked when I got that notification, absolutely gobsmacked. I didn't see it coming, not this year anyway.
