I'm a little disgusted that I'm excited by a win over the Browns.
I'm very glad they proved they're not as dysfunctional as the Browns. A better opponent would have capitalized on the Eagles' mistakes, but the Browns could barely capitalize on the terrible officiating by those refs. It's a good sign. Wentz has accuracy and had chemistry with Jmatt and Agholor. I think Philly is gonna be eating a lot of shoes if Agholor has a 10 TD season.
Pats win 23-21 with a crippled roster. Ar-kan-sauce is good on steak tips.
I'm just now hearing about all the kneeling that went on before some of the games yesterday.
I defended that a few days ago but I'm sorta having a change of heart. I mean, I defend the right but c'mon, it's our national anthem AND it was 9/11.
I'm sincere when I say I don't mind people protesting.
In this case, there are many (now) black athletes that are trying to bring to light what I thought was police killing unarmed black men.
Many players stood for the 9⁄11 ceremonies and then knelt for the anthem.
I actually don't have a problem with players kneeling during the anthem to bring attention to what they support.
What I don't care for is this:
Today on ESPN it was reported that players are raising awareness about racial injustice (in general) not simply policing action that is questionable. Some were quoted as saying racial injustice today is the same as it was in 1968.
Seems like a crock to me.
There are so many opportunities out there today for everybody. These black players are making millions, they're protesting, they're on television stating their beliefs, etc.
Do you think in 1968 THAT would have been possible?
There are so few educated black voices heard when it comes to speaking about racism.
Educated blacks know there are opportunities for everybody, but, you may have to put in the work. What a newsflash!
Also, cops are NOT just shooting random blacks on a daily basis.
Yes, there are incidents where a cop/cops have made egregious errors/committed crimes.
They need to be prosecuted and sent to prison.
What we don't get to hear though are the stories of cops that help all folks, who risk their lives for their black neighbors, who get help for and mentor youth in their communities.
No one wants to talk about that.
So, take the black power, fist-raising, bullshit, and do some real good in your community.
Educate the uneducated.
Build bridges instead of creating dissension.

He had a 101 QBR his first time out of the gate. It's still early, but I really think he's the franchise QB we've been looking for. Time will tell. Dak looked pretty good for the cowballs too. If Williams would have been smart enough to get out of bounds their kicker would have won that game for them.

Never mind the Pats go on the road without Brady & Gronk and win in AZ against a club many feel will represent the NFC in the SB.

I don't know who said the cards are going to the SB. All of my friends that are cards fans are very worried about the age of their team right now. Honestly, they looked like old men out there last week.

We like this move.
The options to replace Bridgewater were:
1. Stand pat and do nothing and enter the season with Shaun Hill and an injured undrafted rookie in Joel Stave (U of WI) as the team's QB's. That would've been horrible.
2. Wait until the league's final cutdown day and see if a QB got released. Would've been someone not much better than Hill or Stave.
3. Go make a bold move and take a win-now approach to this season.
Many outside of MN will say the Vikes overpaid for Bradford, and that he's injury prone. The injury history scares me.
However, this is what excites me:
Bradford threw for 3700 yards in 14 games last year for Philly.
This is also the most complete team he will have played for.
To me, the only way this deal really sucks is if he gets injured and is lost for the year.
BTW: he's also signed for 2 years at $10M per, which is a decent number. With the severity of Teddy's injury, we'll probably need Bradford at least 2 years.
Bottom line: I'm now excited about this season again.
I have to admit:
Sam Bradford played like a battle-tested veteran.
Composed, smart and TOUGH.
He got hit. A lot.
Bounced up every time.
