JSYK, everybody pretends to be your friend. So Maytee DID know the guys who killed Johnny and Lisa? Or at least her family members knew them and she knew of them? The ghetto DID kill those two young folks. It isn't a senseless tragedy, it is somebody's shitty parenting coming to fruition. You can love somebody and still be bad for them. The trick is loving your kids more than you love yourself. You do that by getting up and going to work, even if you don't feel like it. You do that by being willing to piss your kids off by saying, "NO!" You do that by being the best example you can of what you want your kids to be when they grow up.
Love doesn't fix things. Effort does. And honor.
I raised kids. Nothing really bad ever happened, but there were a few bumps in the road. That's when I dropped the hammer. I was willing to be unpopular (and a fucking grown up) in order to do the right things. My grown kids make me proud. They grew into people I like that I don't have to bail out of jail. It wasn't easy. But it was worth it. If something like that happened to my kids, I would know who to blame. And I would never forgive myself. I don't forgive other parents who drop the ball, either. Fuck you people who do a bad job at the most important thing in the world. I don't forgive you. You fucked up.

You are spot on. It's the mind of a sociopath. They are never at fault. I have several that work for me. I even have one that popped for weed and couldn't even admit that he smoked it, claimed his neighbor gave him a spiked brownie. Too bad he doesn't know he won't pop a piss test for brownies. You can't argue with crazy.
I wouldn't be surprised if she had a hand in it at this point. Sounds like there was a connection. Her rantings would then be an expression of guilt.
