Sure it would make them stay in jail longer. I understand the law. I've always thought education and gun safety training in schools or as an extra credit coarse would be good also. Gun safety is not even addressed in schools. Instead of vilifying them and putting more money into getting rid of them education may just be the cure.
They don't relate to the bill that's under consideration today, but I've long understood your views about guns in general and your desire for firearms courses in schools, Maggot.

Anyway, if the NH bill is passed into law, I agree that it won't likely make many thieves stop stealing guns.

But, since it would allow prosecutors to put gun thieves/criminals behind bars for much longer periods of times, I think it makes sense.
Being incarcerated doesn't mean they shouldn't be useful. Bring back the chain gang!

When we recently had that big snow storm here on the East Coast one community used prisoners to shovel sidewalks & driveways for that particular town. Obviously hardened criminals weren't used but I don't recall hearing anyone complaining about those individuals being used in that capacity. I've also seen their big orange buses on the side of highways during the Summer, they pick up trash and plant wild flowers.
In light of two recent incidents (I believe), San Francisco is considering making it a law that you have to lock your car if there's a gun in it.

hah

Cracks me up...more legislating for the fucking retards.

Retards legislating retards or is it ..........The mentally handicapped legislating the mentally handicapped? We don't want any offensive hate speech going on out there.
Hey, we have our share of retards here, but most of them can at least read and comprehend, you dopes.

There is no law under consideration that people have to lock their car if there's a gun in it.

Like everywhere else in the country, especially urban areas, guns are sometimes stolen from police and private vehicles which are broken into, and then those guns are used to commit crimes.

The bill proposes that guns kept in locked vehicles (and unlocked vehicles, for the dopes) must be secured in a lock box or under a seat.

Another child has been killed because of a gun left out :(

A three-year-old boy accidentally shot and killed his nine-year-old sister in an Alabama home on Saturday.

Police said the girl was shot in the head.

She was flown by a medical helicopter to Children's of Alabama hospital, where she later died.

Irondale police chief Ken Atkinson told AL.com that the shooting took place Saturday afternoon at the grandparents' house in a Birmingham suburb.

He said the boy found a loaded pistol on a bedroom nightstand and shot his sister in the head with it.

Atkinson said the incident seems to be a 'tragic accident' but an investigation is under way.

He said detectives are interviewing the children's uncle and grandmother who were home at the time of the shooting to learn exactly what happened.

The grandfather had left the loaded gun on the nightstand not knowing his grandchildren were coming over that day.

Thats a shame, I think there should be more attention put to this kind of thing than there is.
Public Service Announcements, leaflets and fliers as well as some legislation making gun owners more responsible for their weapons. You can't fix stupid, though.

Maybe this kind of thing has been going on my whole life and because it didn't affect me I simply never paid attention to it, but since I have been aware of this type of shooting it seems to me that it's happening monthly, if not more. It's so senseless and it seems like such an easy fix but like you said, you can't fix stupid.

...and maybe it's not even stupidity. It's people being lackadaisical, they are careless & thoughtless.

That's stupidity incarnate when dealing with a dangerous tool, weapon, substance, Situation....whatever

I think it's both and, in any case, resulting deaths are due to "negligence" not "accident", in my opinion.

But, they keep getting labeled as "accidents". Lock up the guns or keep them out of reach of children at all times. If you don't and a little kid picks up your loaded gun and shoots himself or someone else, you are responsible for a negligent homicide. That's how I feel.

Anyway.........here's more on the 9 year-old killed by her 3 year-old brother.

Snip:

Irondale Police Chief Ken Atkinson told AL.com and WIAT that the children’s great-grandfather had left the loaded pistol on his nightstand Saturday morning, not knowing that the children were coming over. He wasn’t home at the time of the shooting, but the children’s grandmother and uncle — whom police detectives are now interviewing — were, though they didn’t know there was a gun in the room where the children were playing.

“It appears to be a tragic accident,” Atkinson said. Local TV station WBRC reported it doesn’t seem that any charges will be filed, citing Irondale police.

Shootings by toddlers are tragically common. A Washington Post survey in the fall found 43 instances in the first 10 months of 2015 in which someone had been shot by a child age 3 or younger. Of the 15 shootings that were fatal, 13 of them involved the toddlers inadvertently killing themselves.

So far this year, at least four toddlers have accidentally fired a gun at themselves; one of them died from his injuries.

^ Kimberly Reylander, 9, is the fifth person to be hurt in an accidental shooting by a toddler since Jan. 1.
RIP.

Even though it would have prevented me from defending my family in the fastest way possible my guns were in a safe, loaded and ready for use. I had a taser in the dresser next to the bed for immediate protection (and of course the ability to kick 90% of the ass out there), can you imagine accidentally shooting a family member?
I loved Ted Nugent in my early teens and still sometimes listen to his music. But, I've grown to really dislike the man over the last couple of years. He's become an increasingly delusional dipshit.

[Image: ted-nugent-i-shit-my-pants-2-avoid-draft.jpeg?w=600]

Ted the 'patriot' draft-dodger posted some memes which are popular with supremacists, and then labeled Holocaust victims "soulless sheep". He also posted a collage of photos and assertions related to high profile Jews. He claims they are evil gun control agents looking to deprive Americans of their second amendments rights, essentially.

Some NRA members and other gun owners are among those saying 'enough is enough' with the ignorant bigoted bullshit. They're pushing the NRA to revoke Ted's board member status with the NRA.

I doubt the NRA will oust him (they make a lot of money off of people who think like Ted and pass it on from generation to generation), but they're getting an earful.

Official NRA comment: views expressed by members of the NRA Board of Directors don't represent the organization.

Whatta dick he is.
The nuttier the better.
Everyone should reap what they sow. How old is he?
I didn't realize Ted Nugent was as old as he is -- he's 67. He's only a year younger than Hillary Clinton, though there's little chance he'll be voting for her.

Nugent is an avid supporter of 69-year-old Donald Trump.
Weird to think someone born in the 40s is most likely going to be president.
The first part of this post is based on a lunch conversation I had, with friends, last week. Two of them are NOT gun owners and believe that meaningful, responsible gun ownership is a must. However, neither believes the recent proposed executive actions address their concerns.

The second part of the post addresses what happened to my niece, last Saturday.

I mentioned that I laugh every time I hear the phrases "common sense gun control" and "gun safety legislation", from the administration, to my lunch companions.

Why not call it what they proclaim is their desired end result . . . FIREARM HOMICIDE PREVENTION?

What a bunch of disingenuous fuckers!

"Gun Control" is the acquisition of a target and the methodical, conscious and deliberate discharge of a firearm, to strike said target.

"Gun Safety" is a skill learned by education . . . NOT by legislation.

"Gun Control" comes from practicing and mastering "Gun Safety".

My question: With all of the new proposals from the administration, why didn't one include some sort of INCENTIVE for gun owners or purchasers to obtain mandatory, proper firearm training? Wouldn't this be considered a vital component of responsible gun ownership that Obama professes to support? Or is this too much common sense for the administration to handle?

C'mon anti-gun . . . err . . . Citizens for Responsible Gun Ownership . . . why isn't a carrot ever offered with the predictable dogmatic, political shtick to get all parties to come to the table?

Think tax credits for firearm education, certification, license or permit costs as the carrot.

I say, take the funds from the school lunch programs to pay for this. According to the administration's statistics, children have a greater chance of dying from a firearm than by skipping a few meals.

Or tax the bejeezus out of sugary drinks (as is done with tobacco) and channel these funds to implement the program. I'm sure our First Lady and Bloomberg would heartily support this tax. "Preventing deaths from obesity and firearms" . . . a win-win proposition! "Coke Zero - Helping to keep our kids alive and thin!".

I'm with F.U. . . .

I believe Obama would like to ban the sale of firearms and then grab the guns, by destroying the 2nd Amendment. I believe this is the unspoken, underpinning driving his executive orders.

For all who hold to the fact he NEVER stated this belief publicly and therefore, my belief is folly or without merit, I'd like to remind you of a few statements he made publicly and were falsities.

Think "If you like your doctor . . . " and the Syrian "Red Line" for starters.

Why should responsible, legal gun owners trust and believe him now?

Now . . . to last Saturday.

As mentioned in previous posts, my niece attends ASU. She is a full time student, works 32 hours a week, maintains academic honors and has a cat.

She keeps in shape by continuing her aikido and kendo training ( both since she was 13 ). She's built like a Victoria's Secret model . . . . . . with an angelic face, to boot. She's opinionated and unafraid to speak her mind . . . however, she's soft spoken and relatively shy. A tad naive and a bit of a sucker for a good sob story.

She also has a CCP, believes in Obama and Black Lives Matter, loathes Trump, has her own apartment and pays for all of her living expenses.

And she's lily white.

Saturday night she was working until 11 PM. She does not keep her phone, on her person, at work. After her shift, she neglected to check her phone, before beginning her 10 minute drive home.

Upon returning home, she was greeted by a police officer . . . standing in front of her obviously "kicked-in" front door.

Her first instinct was to check on her cat . . . nowhere to be found. Tears and panic for the safety and whereabouts of her cat pre-empt the obvious "What the fuck is going on?".

Fast forward to Aunt Tiki getting a "can you come here" call, from the police.

Race over to her place ( twenty minutes away ), see the entry carnage, enter her apartment, console my niece and see the bullet holes in her bedroom!

The tenants to her south, share a common wall. This wall happens to be the bedroom wall where she has her desk, keyboard and walk-in closet.

One bullet passed high and lodged into her ceiling. Upward trajectory entering six feet, from the floor.

The other . . . between her keyboard and keyboard bench and ultimately lodging in her bed.

In other words: A "belly shot" if she had been at her keyboard!

LE was stingy with the details . . . this is what I know so far:

1.) A male / female couple were tenants in the apartment where the shots were fired.

2.) Female fired a handgun three times . . . one shot penetrating their ceiling and roof. The other two shots penetrating my niece's bedroom wall.

3.). No history of domestic complaints ( that they knew of ) between these two.

4.) Female "only wanted to scare" the male . . . not shoot him.

5.) Police forced entry into my niece's apartment, as she did not answer her phone and were checking to see if she was injured or dead.

6.) Female arrested on various ( unspecified ) charges. Male was not arrested.

7.) Caliber and make of weapon withheld.

8.) Police report will not be available for 14 days.

These questions were not answered:

Nigger, illegal or white trash shooter?

Reason for the "altercation"?

Relationship ( married, dating, roommates ) status of the couple?

Did the trigger-happy cunt have a previous criminal record?

Alcohol or drugs involved?

Ownership of the weapon used?

Who alerted the police?

All repairs to her apartment should be completed today.

The male was evicted, Sunday, as the lease agreement specifies immediate eviction if a firearm is discharged within a unit ( there goes your self-defense and castle protection, lessees . . . at least for continued occupancy ).

We ( my niece and me ) are going to do our best to hold this twat responsible for her reckless, thoughtless and dangerous actions.

We will fight any plea bargain offers and will submit either a Victim's Impact Statement or amicus brief, to the judiciary.

As two CCP owners AND two Second Amendment supporters, we want to make damned sure this bitch never has the opportunity to legally squeeze-off another round. I think our CCP's lend credence to our position of tough penalties . . . versus sounding like we're both whiny, anti-gun advocates.

Simply put: Strictly enforce any and every law currently on the books.

The bitch should have shot to kill if she felt it necessary to pull the trigger . . . a firearm discharge decision learned through Gun Safety education.

Oh, yeah . . . the cat was found hiding under the couch.

He came out Sunday afternoon.

If she only had a dog . . . I'd be able to say . . . by proxy . . . I have a dog in the fight.

In this case, I'm thinking her pussy trumps a dog.
