I think that's a legitimate concern and I wouldn't disregard anyone's feelings regarding it. Even a complete ban will not stop a nutter who is determined enough to get their hands on assault weapons but I think its up to the laws of a sensible society to make it as hard as possible for them to do so.
And you are of course 100% correct MS no one “needs” an AR-15 when I hear the gun nuts (and I'm sorry but if you feel the “need” to own assault weapons you ARE a gun nut) try and justify owning one it just sounds to me like an obnoxious brat in a toy store stamping their little foot “but I NEED it!”

This past near fiasco of a bill that was purported to be "Expanded Background Check" also had a shit load of other stuff that would have been a far more infringement on people like me.
