Police spokesman Officer Jeremy Webb says police have heard varying descriptions from witnesses about what exactly happened, including that the gun fired when the girl grabbed it in her father’s hand and that it fired when the father tried to take the weapon from the girl.

I haven't checked into any updates yet. I wonder why he had the gun out and within her reach in the first place?

The police are cracking down hard on crime here in the last year. We have about 300,000 in the city. We average about 15-20 murders a year. We had 47 in 2013. We have a new police chief and a new drug task force walking the streets in the hood nightly and crime has dropped like a rock.
I don't know how to post a link from my phone, but the coroner ruled her death as a homicide today.

Thanks for the update, FAHQTOO. This story makes me really sad. Here's the confirmation of the homicide ruling.

FORT WAYNE Coroners have ruled the shooting death of a young Fort Wayne girl a homicide.

The Allen County Coroner's Office identified the girl Monday as 5-year-old Mya White. She was shot in the face at a home Friday night.

Police have been treating the shooting the shooting as a "negligent discharge," but the coroner's office says the death was "the result of an act committed by another human being."

No arrest have been made or charges filed. Investigators have questioned several family members and witnesses.

Unbelievable

A publicly unidentified dipshit claims he was sittin' around on the couch with his family Sunday night, cleanin' a loaded gun, when BANG........the gun just accidentally went off. The single bullet hit the man's hand, before hitting his wife in the elbow, and ultimately hitting his son.

Mom and dad are fine, but the 11 year-old boy was pronounced dead at the home in Gaylesville, Alabama. RIP. Investigation underway.

Even if it did happen exactly as the man claims, the level of irresponsibility and negligence is unbelievable to me.

Cleaning a loaded gun. WTF!

Too stupid to live. Figures it would be an innocent bystander who gets killed.

I could have sworn we talked about the road rage incident out in Las Vegas where the mom was killed but I can't find it.

A mom was teaching her teenage daughter how to drive in a parking lot. She enrages someone, long story short she takes her daughter home, picks up her son who has a gun and goes looking for the person who eventually shot her. She died after a couple days.

When this news first broke I was under the impression it happened during the day and the shooter followed her home and shot her but this morning the Today Show reported it happened late at night and after picking up her son who had a loaded gun they went looking for the guy. They went looking for trouble and they found it. Just what the fuck did they expect. Jesus.
I don't think we talked about that one before, Duchess. But, there was a similar road rage incident in Hawaii not too long ago where the woman chased down the male driver to cuss-rant and threaten him with her kid in the car. She's lucky they didn't get physically hurt.

I'd briefly read about the one outta Las Vegas and thought a man killed the mother of four after he got into a road altercation with her and her daughter and then followed them home. That version of events was misleading, to say the least. The suspect(s) never followed the two home and the woman and her son went hunting for the man with a loaded gun (the son shot the suspect's car multiple times, according to the report I just read). I agree that they went looking for trouble and found it.

I'm sorry she's dead, but Jesus Christ she was foolish. Her son says he defends what he did because he was protecting his family. Her daughter says that her mom and her brother were protecting her and are her heroes. I say the woman put herself and her family in harm's way unnecessarily because she was a pissed off hothead.

Police claim that indications are that the man fired first (probably based on the son's version of events). If they catch the man, he'll probably be able to spin a good case for self defense, given the circumstances.

She did! When I first heard this story I thought how awful for her daughter to have witnessed that and come to find out it wasn't like that at all! I don't agree that the Mom and brother were protecting the girl, I don't view any of them as a hero. I think they have shit for brains. They were acting like a badass. Pfft. It got her killed.
What if it was one of her kids that got shot instead. Stupid bitch.

I don't even flip my finger anymore, no telling what crazy bastard has a gun. But usually it's some old fuck that's pissing me off and most likely they're not packing heat. They're just sitting at the green arrow taking a little nap or driving in front of me 10 miles under the speed limit.
I don't remember reading about this shooting death when it occurred on New Year's Day.

But, today the coroner confirmed that an active military police officer and mother of two from Michigan died as a result of accidentally shooting herself in the eye. She shot herself as she was looking down while trying to situate her bra holster the way she wanted it to fit.

The woman, Christina Bond, had recently been elected as a Republican precinct delegate for St. Joseph Charter Township at the time of her death.

I think the bra gun-holster shit is over-the-top, personally. Regardless, Bond looked like a nice person and it seems she was committed to defense and law enforcement. Too bad she died because she was careless and stupid in regards to gun safety.
Wow, too bad she got killed.
That said, the bra holster IS the shit.
If you need to carry but its not convenient to have a handbag or to keep your weapon in one, the bra holster works out pretty well.
A moderately snug top barely prints if at all especially with a nice rack. Smaller breasted women it will show a bit more though.
I have installed 2 of these things and they work well.
Any word on what weapon she had?
I'm gonna guess a Glock 19. They have no safety.
I don't know the weapon type, guys.

But, if I had to guess, the bra is a Maidenform 34-B light support Comfort Cup Deluxe with adjustable shoulder straps and two wire back hooks.

I know nothing about the holster other than I would not wear one with a loaded gun inside secured between my breasts to a New Year's Eve party. But, that's just me.

The son posted this pic to his FB page. He referred to it as a new member of his family. I don't like people who have such a cavalier attitude having access to guns. I feel like they don't give them the respect they deserve. These things are no joke.

The person who shot her has been taken into custody. He's a 20 yr. old who lives a block away.
^ Bunch of winners in this story, the whole lot of them.

[Image: vegas-roadrage-suspect_635x250_1424382391.jpg]

^ The 22-year-old suspect was taken into custody after being surrounded by SWAT.

In Meyers Family form, Mr. Meyers (the slain woman's husband) was at the scene making a scene and had to be held back by cops.

Police aren't indicating if the suspect in the photo was the person who shot Tammy Meyers or if he was one of the passengers present during the shoot-out.

My understanding now is that the initial non-violent road-rage incident took place near a parking lot. Tammy Meyers then took her daughter home (she was not followed home by the suspect(s)) where she summoned her adult son to get his gun and they went out hunting for the suspect(s) and found them. A shoot-out went down and Tammy Meyers was shot fatally in the head in the driveway of her home.

Senseless.

To be nitpicky, I had read at one point that all this went down around 11:00 PM. For all I know that could be the wrong time of day but when I read it I wondered why she'd be giving a driving lesson at that time of day and while this probably doesn't matter a wit, I don't believe this is the kind of family that simply honks a horn when someone has pissed them off. I view them more as bird flippers and screechers.
Anderson is reporting that the "victim's" family has changed their story again. They know the young man who shot her, he had been a guest in their home many times.
2 bunches of dip shits shouldn't have guns
