i read it last night... the bit about sobbing into the cold barren baby blanket was just too heartrending, i was speechless with sorrow and grief. especially since she had just delivered the poor baby a few hours before. what bravery! what courage!

God... what an awful thing to jerk people around with. It happens enough in real life. I was TERRIFIED of losing my baby when I was pregnant... after taking three fucking years to get pregnant and whole 'advanced maternal age' crap (yes ladies, once you hit 35).

Mine is about 4 yards long (the veil, not my boobs).
